A few questions of longtime Chevy/GMC IFS 4wd owners.

Let me chime in based on my experience. So I did a little work for a Conservation Corps program in the southwest. We ran a fleet of 2010-2015 GMC 2500HD Crew Cab 6.0 4x4 trucks with the G80, These trucks ran with 5/6 adults and fully loaded beds. We drove them in four wheel drive about 50% of...

    Time to retire the F150

Only 99-03/04 Silverados have rear disc brakes, I think stardard. GM was having so many problems with the rear parking brake assembly they went back too drums on the pickup trucks. The SUVs kept the disc brakes, 2005 and maybe 2004 late production SUVs half tons got hydroboost which is what you...

    Chevy Hydroboost Conversion

I would advise against a magnefine if you live in cold climates. I had one on the return side of my P/S system crack the end cap off in a the dead of winter while I was warming my truck up, dumping all my P/S fluid. I had it istalled correctly, just an heads up. I don't think its common but...

Making 2001 1500 HD more trail worthy.

The 1500HD is the same frame as the 2500HD/LD, just without the 2" bodylift. The easiest thing for you todo is get a zone 1.5" bodylift and use what ever front grill guard/bumper you want designed for a 2500HD. Otherwise some larger tires, 33" will fit stock, possibly 35" with a little torsion...

Looks good, always liked white suburbans. I was down in South Padre last month, after seeing your pictures makes me wish I rented something a little more substantial than a Corolla.

Raybestos makes a line of Police rotors that deal with heat better, can see if they make a set for your van.

    New Rig: 1991 Ford F-150 4x4

I plowed with a TTB50 F250 for a number of years, and it was indestructable never let me down aside from universal joints.

Lets see some full size pictures...

Vehicles are grouped based on foot print not GVWR. Since 1/2 tons share the same foot print (length, width, height) generally and in chevy and dodges case bodies, they are grouped together. Not to mention some current 1/2 tons have as much GVWR as older 3/4 tons. Its just a general grouping, but...
