The walking beam axle has been the best setup in my atv off road application. Pros- quite. - wieght of paylaod doesn't matter. - doesn't flip over. (don't ask me how I know this.) But I don't think it's road legal, here in Ontario Canada... But I'm no legal expert.

x2 on the cabelas xl cot I've been using mine for three years, It's little stretched but still strong. I'm the same height and weight as you plus my 65lbs lab sleeps on it as well. It needs a large tent to fit it. But you gain storage by being able to place things underneath the cot.
