How good can a full-size solid axle suspension be?

I feel like if you are not hitting high speed stuff, 2.5's will be more than enough. I ran 2.5's on an 04.5 Cummins, and I was eating up everything. I am working on a full size crawler/overland/desert type build and am probably going to run 3.0 coilovers all around, just in case I want to hit...

How good can a full-size solid axle suspension be?

I do not hear my bypass shocks at all. Prior to this build, I had an 04.5 Cummins and I was running King 2.5's in the front and 2.5 double bypass in the rear. I was able to push that truck close to 100mph in the desert and sand dunes. 2.5's properly valved will let you do almost anything your...

How good can a full-size solid axle suspension be?

Here is my Thuren/King 4.0 setup on my 07 5.9. It is Thuren's stage 6 valving, so it is made for high-speed desert stuff. King 4.0's with the extended race resi in the front and King 3.0 Quadruple bypass in the rear. I am running Thuren leaf springs and his Alien long arms in the front. The axle...

    3rd Gen Ram owners....Skid plates

Any fab shop can whip you up a skid plate no problem. That's the route I would go. You can get it made how you want. I am currently not running a skid plate, but may in the future.

2007 5.9 Mega Cab Build AKA: THE GIANT PANDA update with KING SHOCKS all around!

I am actually looking to remove that and get a spray on liner. A rubber bed mat would still be a good idea after the fact. Right now I am trying to save up for front and rear lockers. Then eventually down the line, I may dovetail and shorten the wheelbase a foot. But that is way down the line.

2007 5.9 Mega Cab Build AKA: THE GIANT PANDA update with KING SHOCKS all around!

Well, first of all, I wouldn't be mixing up shocks. Either go with all Kings from Don, or not. Also, if you outline the general purpose of your truck to Don, he will be able to set you up with sonething while still keeping the stock rear springs. A stage 2-4 should be good. Not sure exactly...

2007 5.9 Mega Cab Build AKA: THE GIANT PANDA update with KING SHOCKS all around!

I wouldnt say the valving REQUIRES more speed, but it can HANDLE more speed. I am not getting a huge amount of body lean. I want to say it is less than stock. Overall, it is stiffer than stock all around. Speed bumps are not an issue at any speed. Specially with the long arms. What is going to...

2007 5.9 Mega Cab Build AKA: THE GIANT PANDA update with KING SHOCKS all around!

It feels really good. Nice and firm for a big truck. It is a little hard for me to tell because I had 4 blown pro comp shocks, so the truck handled like a boat on the ocean. But now it is really nice. I have taken it on 3 hour road trips, and all over downtown Los Angeles. It handles awesome on...
