Hey everyone engine is finally back in the d21. Quick question, would it be advisable to run the radiator without the fan shroud? Does it serve a purpose other than protecting people from the fan blades?

Sounds like you've got a pretty solid plan. If you're planning on taking on a trip like that I'd definitely recommend rebuilding the engine. 4-6k is pretty reasonable cost estimate. Others on the board have recommended steering component upgrades so that might be something to include as well...

Does anyone make rock sliders for d21's? If not does anyone have dimensions for ones they've had fabricated? A

Great thanks for the advice! Looks like for the time being I'll just be adjusting the torsion bars and ordering new shocks and a steering dampener. Got a canopy with roof bars and a cargo basket last night, pics to come!

Considering that I am not looking to increase my tire size and desire a strong, reliable front suspension, should I just crank up the torsion bars to level the front end and replace the shocks or replace the UCA and possibly the torsion bars as well? For my current purposes the stock ride...

Great advice. Thank you for taking the time to point out the need to upgrade my steering components, definitely not something I would have thought of. Now that the engine is off being rebuilt I have room to concentrate on the front suspension and steering. I'll be ordering new shocks all around...

Update Hi everyone, my apologies for the slow progress, I've been trying to finish a motorcycle project. But this weekend I finally got the engine out of the d21 so it can be rebuilt! Cheers, A

Just found Brown Davis and turns out they have a 125L replacement tank for a Nissan navara d21. Are Navaras and Hardbodys the same truck with a different name? Has anyone installed a Brown Davis tank in their HB? Cheers

Here are a few shots of the truck. Its parked until the engine gets rebuilt. Engine just needs to be unbolted and it'll be ready to pull out.

Has anyone swapped a larger fuel tank into a HB? The 15.9 Gallon tank has me a little concerned for fuel range. Cheers

Do the UCA's and reindexed Torsion bars allow you crank them up while maintaining proper alignment?

Thanks for the input everyone. Reliability and simple/ minimal modifications seem to be the rule of thumb. MTWheeler your truck is very similar to what I'd like to aim for. What size tires are you running and what have you done suspension wise? Pics to come..
