I do it about every 3500 to 4k in my F150.
Not many F150s with flatbeds though is right. I have a 2013 I've been tossing around the idea of a flatbed but not many great pictures out there. Might just make my own.
I have no clue what your plans for use are, but if it were me I would get rid of a few of the crossmembers on the roof. Will cut weight and it would be unnecessarily strong. I would also add something more than a 1" square tube across the top of the camper, something more like a 1x3 or 1x4...
Get something designed properly to take the slop out. I have a 1up rack that doesn't move at all. I know Kuat has a similar anti-wobble design, but I prefer 1up.
Looks great! Always liked following your build.
I replaced my F150 leaf packs (1500lb) with the General Springs HD 2500lb packs and was hoping to gain some height to get back rake but I also saw very little - about 1/2 inch. The truck rides much better now, but I'll probably buy some new...
I've read this whole thing a while back and can't remember if this was answered or not:
You can stand in these when they're off the vehicle, right? As in drop it at camp and use it that way?
Wow, impressive build! I want to build something like this someday, but at least now I know about Kingdom Campers and can have them build it for me if I want!
Always enjoy following this thread. Partially because your rig is incredibly similar to what I hope to have someday, and partially because I love the photos. Any recent updates?
Not entirely true.
Imagine the time and money saved if you could simply buy the already designed product vs having to reverse engineer? They wouldn't get near as much for it as they would if it were patented, but I'm guessing they could sell the design or license it.
Great build! I have to agree that the F150 is a fantastic overlanding rig. My brother has the F150 Tremor and it's an incredible vehicle.
I have a '13 FX4 w/ 6.5ft bed that has been great for me.
Look forward to seeing more of your updates! Also, very cool bikes! I bookmarked your site...
Looks great! Interested in what you spent on it as well. I bought cheapo unit from amazon to get by for a couple trips, but would like to put something else together at some point.
The used travel trailer I bought came with a Furrion Wireless camera. Its actually pretty awesome. It's an old model that used to run around $300 but I think the newer ones are around $500 now.
I'll always have one now, after seeing how handy this one is.
