    Reduced - Classic Worm-Drive Ramsey RE 12000 Winch - $700

I have cleaned and refurbished this US Made Ramsey RE 12000 winch. I have unspooled, inspected, and respooled the cable. The cable is in great shape and doesn't show any signs of use, let alone abuse. The plastic cover was replaced and the cables between the solenoids and motor have been...

    Sequoia Stealth Winch

I put a winch on my 05 Sequoia. I wasn’t interested in an off road bumper; I wanted a more customized look…a stealth look. Maybe I was inspired by all of those car customizers on Sunday morning, I don’t know. I will say that I really proud of the look. I think it’s a really clean install...

    Winch Mount Bolt Strength

Has anyone ever sheared a winch mounting bolt while winching? I'm asking because I'm fabricating a hidden winch plate and need to make sure I've got enough strength in my attachment points. After thinking it through, it seems that the weakest point in the whole equation is where the winch is...

    2uz-fe valve train noise

I’ve recently noticed that I’m getting a lot more valve noise. It’s especially noticeable when I’m in a drive through where I’m right next to a wall. It’s coming from under the valve covers on both banks, and thankfully not from the oil pan. If this was my 95 Formula, I’d pull the intake and...

    P0018 Code 2005 Sequoia 2UZ FE

Yesterday she threw a P0018 code. Cleared it, drove it, same code. Soooo, after copious Googling, it's either a slipped belt, a faulty VVTi solenoid, or a clogged Oil Control Valve. Slept on it, then had some coffee - out to the garage. Lined up the crank to TDC: Popped off the cam sprocket...

    2005 Sequoia Timing Belt #2

Just replaced the second timing belt. 235K Miles. Another 100+ to look forward to. Did the water pump, tensioner, tensioner pulley, and idler pulley. Took about 6 hours (I have a well stocked tool chest and air tools). Had to brag. Time for a beer!

    Fording Depth vs. Snorkel Height

At the risk of being branded a heretic... Do you really need a snorkel intake at the roof level? I mean, unless you're trying to assault a beach from a landing craft, how often are you intentionally crossing water that washes over the windshield of your vehicle? And, to be fair, I suppose...

Best route for wires from interior to roof for lights, antennas, etc?

Title says it all: what's the best path to route all of those cables for driving lights, CB antennas, GPS antennas, etc? Hole in the roof or around a door seal? Thanks.

    Sequoia Sleeping / Storage Platform

Wife and I decided to build out the Sequoia. But, rather than sink a ton of cash into it (which we really don't have), we're going to "grow" into it. First phase will be a sleeping / storage platform, next will be ... I really don't know yet. We'll probably overnight a couple of times and...

A New Approach to Drawer Slides

I started this thread in "Vehicle Mods," and got a recommendation to repost it here. So, after looking at many, many fine works of craftsmanship, I still had a few lingering concerns over the various approaches to drawer slides. The skate bearing is obviously the way to go, so that's a...
