    Best toilet for frequent dumping?

I'm pleased with the Thetford C402, it's about as hassle free as dealing with sh.. can be. Their are certainly less costly alternatives and space may be an issue for some - but it works well for me.

    GPS or Tablet

Bottom line - I don't care what kind of tablet or phone the OP has (or will have) a standalone GPS receiver will ALWAYS provide more accurate position information that a chip in a tablet or phone. Obviously their are lots of device choices available, find what works for you and travel happy...

    GPS or Tablet

@robigendreau - That's way I use a standalone GPS receiver (The Dual). First I CAN use it with my wifi only iPad (less expensive) and secondly, the Dual is far superior to ANY tablet or phone (whatever make) that tries to use a built in GPS chip. Other reasons to use the Dual (or similar device)...

    GPS or Tablet

I use a wifi only iPad for navigation. All you need is one of these - http://gps.dualav.com - which is a much better GPS receiver than the GPS chip in the cellular iPads. The other thing you need (if using a wifi only tablet) is a nav app that stores its maps on your device, I use CoPilot -...

    Good choice or keep looking?

Good point on the diesel premium. Looking for something that will take me to/from Alaska and around NA for the next couple of years. Beyond that, who knows - at 75yo I don't do a lot of long range planning anymore. Steve

    Good choice or keep looking?

Disclaimer: I know nothing (as in nada, zip, zero) about trucks/vans with respect to selecting a good vehicle for overland travel. I will be traveling mostly solo in the US, Canada and maybe Mexico. I'm looking for a vehicle for a planned trip to Alaska in May and I've found this. A 2008 GMC...

When does truck become a RV

What USUALLY determines how a truck with a camper is registered? Is it the amount of TIME the camper spends on the truck that makes it into a RV? Or is it how the camper is attached? Some other factor? Is this usually the owner's choice, or a case where DMV looks at the "rig" and TELLS you how...

    Alaskan Camper Build Up

Aluminess bumper question: The other pictures I've seen do show the carrier rotating up (counterclockwise facing the truck) - what you're saying is it CAN'T continue that motion to place the tire closer to the ground? The only function of the rotation is to provide better access to the winch?

Aluminess bumper question - When you pivot the tire carrier does the tire reach the ground to facilitate unloading/loading these large tires? Thanks

My vehicle has both 12v and 110v (via a 2000 watt pure sine wave inverter) available, so . . . which should I use to power the Engel Fridge which can operate on either? Advantages - Disadvantages. Thanks

    EarthRoamer XV-JP "Northwest Edition"

Just curious - How is the Foxxwing attached to the vehicle? Everything I've read from Foxxwing says it needs a Rino-Rack to attach to. Thanks for sharing.
