SoCal Tear Drop Owners! Post up!

SCT under Gabe was the best. Tom was a con man and ran off with customers' money. I was lucky enough to have paid for a trailer with a card that had fraud protection. Tom didn't even respond to the fraud claim - in essence, a no-contest. I wonder how many he robbed...

    Fraud Alert - SoCal Teardrops

And it looks like SCT is out of business. Website/phones/email all down. It seems the new ownership took off with money from several folks. I am SO thankful I paid with a credit card that had fraud protection. https://www.yelp.com/biz/so-cal-teardrops-rancho-cucamonga

    Fraud Alert - SoCal Teardrops

I could've taken it as-is from the shop. I would've had to bungee down the rear hatch, hoped for no rain the whole ride home, then spend some money to fix the issues. But I was promised a repaired trailer would be delivered to me. During the one call afterwards with SCT owner, he told me that...

Maybe the EPA should pay them a visit...

    Fraud Alert - SoCal Teardrops

Some of the other claims were equally as incredible. SCT also tried to justify using self-tapping screws to hold on their bump rails - 'those screws are rated for 700 lbs each, much stronger than any weld'

    Fraud Alert - SoCal Teardrops

SCT must not have gotten the memo.......this is what they were using. They actually had it out on their workbench and then denied it.

    Fraud Alert - SoCal Teardrops

Good afternoon, I just wanted to share my recent experience with SoCal Teardrops. Bottom line - officially deemed fraud and I got my money back, but be careful with the company. I owned a 2016 SCT and Gabe was great to work with. He stood by everything. But my family has recently grown, so I...

I want to emphasize what @Gtboosted said about SoCal Teardrops and the new ownership. My fraud case against them just closed, so now I can speak about my experience. Here is the thread. https://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/fraud-alert-socal-teardrops.241769/

Beautiful pics. What kind of ceiling vent do you use? I’m pretty sure I will have some interference with the fantastic fan and future RTT.

    Issues with Inka Outdoors

With the price of steel going up, it's bound to hit this niche industry as well. Perhaps you could think of it as an investment that you locked in at a lower price. When my build busted its delivery date I ended up with some freebies out of it. If they don't budge on a full refund (which to...

    Off-road teardrop scratch-build

I’ve had some issues as well with the adhesive on those plastic cable tie mounts. I ended getting some Gorilla brand double sided tape and used it to secure the tie mounts. That solved the problem.

    Favorite Modification?

I used acrylic LED tubes and screwed them to the inside of the perimeter frame rails. They are all in series so if one breaks it’s an easy swap, but the acrylic has held up well. Control module is in the tongue box with the rest of the gizmos.

    Favorite Modification?

LED lighting is my favorite mod so far. Was pretty cheap, can change it to a dozen different colors, and is remote controlled.

Thanks. The tire mount was something they fabricated based on my design. I have a picture of it pre-powdercoat that i'll post when i find it. The rig is very stable off-road, especially now that i have the adjustable shocks dialed in. I had mine built up in Minnesota (Midwest Teardrops). I...

The spare tire mount was part of the build. I did the basket. Probably the best mod I did. I use it for firewood, shovel, drying towels/swimgear... How are you getting yours outfitted?
