    OK ramble to New Mexico

Looks like it was a good time! We've stopped at Capulin on our way to Colorado from Texas before, it does have great views. I was also amazed by the number of rattlers up there. When we got down into the center of the volcano it was all we could hear. Suffice to say we didn't stay long.

Pre-Purchase inspection - Dealer vs Independent LR Service shop

I probably should have mentioned that this will be an "extra" vehicle for now. Would I like this to become my daily, yeah, it's larger than my current Jeep GC but my current thinking is the Jeep is a known quantity and I rack up the hwy miles during the week so I'd rather keep adding them to it...

Pre-Purchase inspection - Dealer vs Independent LR Service shop

I've been looking around for an LR3 for a little while and found a 2007 HSE with 108k miles that caught my eye. I test drove it today and it seemed fine but I'm coming from a long line of Jeep products, not too familiar with LR (yet). The number one advice seems to be to get a pre-purchase...

Expedition Colorado Family Style (GA - CO.)

Sub'd. Sounds like a great plan, look forward to hearing how it went! You made me realize I've got a lot left to check off in CO. I think I've only been to a couple of the places listed, and that was all pre-kids. > Garden of the Gods > Pikes Peak

Have you looked into rear facing car seats for your under fours?

So I thought Texas had passed the same law requiring children to be rear facing until age 2 but after researching it for this it looks like "parents and caregivers are strongly encouraged to follow the new AAP Guidelines when transporting children." The AAP Guideline is rear facing until 2 or 35...

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Curious if you could expand on how these have aged with regular use? I'm on the hunt for an LR3 and several of the ones I have looked at have decently worn seats. I'm ok with that and thinking I would put covers on them but I really don't like the look of a loose seat cover, do these still fit...

Jeep WK LCA replacement - Compress Coilspring?

I picked up some of the Moog LCAs from RockAuto. I generally have good luck with Moog parts but saw your comment about them. Admittedly I didn't research the LCAs specifically. Still deciding if I want to install the Moog since I have them or pay to ship them back and buy the OEM. Anything...

Jeep WK LCA replacement - Compress Coilspring?

ok, thanks, I was slowing coming to the same conclusion. I started researching how to replace the shocks and springs to come up with it. I've got just north of 140k on mine so it will be interesting to see how difficult they are to get out.

The quest for the perfect family (5 of us) overlanding/camping setup....

I'll be watching this, we are a family of four and I'm debating what to get. Leaning toward a dual option approach, a ground tent and a ~25 ft TT.

Jeep WK LCA replacement - Compress Coilspring?

So took the WK in for an alignment after getting some new tires and the dealer "highly" recommended replacing the lower control arms. Something about the tech doing the alignment could not get it exactly aligned, he thought it was due to A) the bushings being worn out in the LCA and B) that my...
