    Abandoned/derelict sites

I was out there on my way across the US in 2014. The landscape is quite flat, so the pyramid comes up over the horizon quite far away. I knew it was coming, and it still caught me off guard. It's probably one of the most surreal places I've ever been.

Suzuki Owners; Let's see your ExPo Trucks

What are you looking to do? The way I see it, in very vague terms: A Tracker, without going all in on mods and such, will have advantages in fuel economy, in fitting down narrow spaces, and possibly in reliability. The Jeep will generally have advantages in more aggressive off road...

    Abandoned/derelict sites

I'm not currently in the same city as most of my photos, but here are a couple from the past summer. Untitled by Medium Adventure, on Flickr An abandoned mine in eastern BC. Untitled by Medium Adventure, on Flickr Farmhouse in Saskatchewan Saskatchewan Schoolhouse by Medium Adventure, on...

Inuvik, eventually. . . and then I'll just wander around.

That's awesome! Nature doesn't waste much time, no. Thanks for having a look. Thanks. I managed to get caught up in life once I returned home, and neglected to finish this off. I'll try to cap it all off once I have access to my photos and whatnot. Thanks. I didn't venture much beyond the...

In Need of Help - Williams Lake, BC

Canadian Tire sells universal type cross bars. They're over on HWY20, west from the junction with the 97, before it starts climbing out of town again. They probably won't be ideal, but might work out on a budget? Walmart might have some as well.

Chevrolet Tracker (Suzuki Grand Vitara) Micro-Camper

This is fantastic! How much length do you have for the bed, once it is extended? I have a very poor man's version of this, with a sleeping platform built seat-of-the-pants in an afternoon out of an old futon frame that I had available, and I only get roughly 5'8" or so from the pushed-forward...

Inuvik, eventually. . . and then I'll just wander around.

I continued south, with a couple days' detour to Stewart, BC (where I saw a some folks nearly taken out from above by a careless tourist's crashed drone), Hyder, AK, and the spectacular Salmon Glacier. Highway 37. The Salmon Glacier. I sat on a rock and just stared at this thing for likely...

Inuvik, eventually. . . and then I'll just wander around.

From Ross River, I made a quick run down the Robert Campbell Highway to Watson Lake, and then onward to BC to drive Highway 37, with a detour to the ghost town of Cassiar, a morning spent trying to get to an abandoned cabin, and a drive out a pretty wild road to Telegraph Creek. The enormous...

Inuvik, eventually. . . and then I'll just wander around.

After another night waiting for the ferry at Ross River, I was off again up the Canol. This time it was mostly sunny, and the trip was uneventful aside from the scenery. Along the road, there are a number of locations where the equipment used in construction was simply left to rot, it being...

Inuvik, eventually. . . and then I'll just wander around.

I've not had much internet access the past while, and I've been kind of busy, so I figure I'll do a couple quick updates: When I last left off, I was waiting on the northern banks of the Pelly River, as I'd missed the last ferry crossing for the day, and would be unable to keep moving until I...

Thanks! I figure an XL7 would be nice every night when I cram myself in the Tracker to sleep, but the short length is nice with how tight a lot of spots get around home for me. I definitely notice the difference from my previous Gen1 Xterra, and that wasn't even a very big truck to begin with...

Thanks! Take this for what it's worth, which is basically nothing as I have no idea if any part of it is even true, but I was told that they had a warm winter this year, which apparently makes for a wet summer. That said, the rain makes for strikingly moody scenery, and from what I've...

Inuvik, eventually. . . and then I'll just wander around.

Again at my familiar Dempster home, I was up early, and was able to make a rare pre-6am departure. My goal was to truck over to Ross River, and maybe even get a short distance up the North Canol Road. On the way, I made a side trip along the Silver Trail to visit Keno, Elsa, and Mayo, poked my...

Inuvik, eventually. . . and then I'll just wander around.

The next day, I had intended to visit Dawson in the morning to find a coffee shop to relax a bit and access the internet. I got to town, and found myself driving straight through to the ferry at the other end. I crossed over to drive the Top of the World Highway, because you can't really turn...

I've unexpectedly arrived back in Whitehorse, and I'll take advantage of having stable wifi for a moment to do some updates. I'll hopefully not get too long-winded. From the last time I posted, I was delayed by a slow start and some road construction, so I made a pretty straight run from...

Inuvik, eventually. . . and then I'll just wander around.

It's too beautiful to describe. It's definitely cramped. I've pulled the rear seats out and built shelf/bed out of a hacked up old futon frame that an old roommate left at my place. Then I push the front passenger seat forward and flip out an extension that gives me a little bit less length...

Inuvik, eventually. . . and then I'll just wander around.

Turns out I made it to Whitehorse about a day early, which was a pleasant surprise. Fort St. John was the last place on this trip that I'd previously visited, so from now until I hit Williams Lake in a few weeks, everything will be new to me. I'm excited. I took care of some errand running...

Inuvik, eventually. . . and then I'll just wander around.

I'm on the move and am in Fort St. John with a minute of downtime, so I figured I'd throw up a quick update. I'm apparently not clever enough to figure out how to link images, but hopefully these attachments end up being of decent enough quality to get the idea. I finally got moving late in...
