    Just another military trailer build

Here's a link to a thread I started when I got my M1101 in 2016. I haven't had much time since my last post there as we have been doing major remodeling to our home and that's been my focus. https://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/my-m1101-project.161611/

    Question for RTT Users w/Annex

I was away from the forum for while, but I'm back and would like to thank you all for your responses! Folding up the tent with the annex still attached!!?? Now that's one I will have to play with.

    Question for RTT Users w/Annex

I have the largest CVT tent and always use the annex. But it's a pain to assemble and dis-assemble, as I'm sure others know. So, do you leave the floor/tub attached to the walls of the annex when you tear it down? Or do you remove and re-install the floor each time? I've thus far removed the...

Propex heater ducting with PVC, thoughts?

Yes we do have the same tent! In going the annex route I'm reasoning that if it's cold enough to need heat, then it's cold enough to need the annex for a changing room (camping with wife and daughter). However, as I suspect you well know, the annex is not something you "just throw on" for an...

Propex heater ducting with PVC, thoughts?

Not sure what tent you are using, but I was going to go with the same unit but put it under the trailer and duct into the annex instead of the tent. Of course this only works if you are using a vestibule/annex. These units can easily be remotely controlled (from inside the tent), and since I...

    My M1101 Project

Here's the tanks I used. One is a 16x18 and one is a 16x24: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006MRSK2/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 In order to get the forward small tank in place you will have to drop one side of the axle ( I say drop, but you will find it easier to leave the...

    My M1101 Project

Sorry for the delay, had a death in the family and was offline for a while. Not sure if I've posted pictures yet but I'll put some here now. I installed two water tanks under the trailer and rigged up a pump system for filling the tanks and pumping to the shower. The two tanks total approx...

    My M1101 Project

The lunette ring and surge brake actuator are a unit, which I removed, and placed a standard receiver tube under the tongue upon which the original unit was mounted on top of. I used some 3/8 steel plate that I had sitting around from the rack building project (which was actually steel laying...

    My M1101 Project

I bought these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P4UVV2C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Two of them were just enough to lift my rack with the largest CVT RTT on it. I had an issue with using just two actuators. Using two actuators placed in the middle of the rack on each...

    My M1101 Project

If you have any more questions just shout 'em out! I will be offline though for a while as we are heading out to get some family camp time it! I really do intend to do a video soon on my progress so far, as I have gotten a lot of little improvements done this summer. I'll certainly post here...

    My M1101 Project

I don't recall the wall thickness on the inner portions, but they are thinner than the outer tubing as I never intended to run with the rack up. And with the rack down, which is where it stays, the inner tubes thickness is not a structural issue. Some additional thoughts: As it turns out I...

    Which trailer an why?

I'm curious, for those with the teardrops, don't you feel there's limited storage space compared to a trailer with a RTT? Seems like the teardrops are great for no setup of the sleeping quarters, but outside of the kitchen in the back and some space on top, where can you store things if it's...

    CVT Mt. Mazama trailer tent

Wow, that sure looks like a ton of work to set up and take down! If I knew that I was staying for a week, then sure. But if you're planning on being on the move regularly that would just not work. I have CVT's largest RTT and even that is a pain to rig and take down on a daily basis.
