that's a pretty good idea, I think I'm gonna do the LED light conversion too! I still have my original lights, but they needed to be rebuilt. just using cheap jobbers on there now.
I think they are made in china. it's a very nice tent and i think the quality is very high. I was critical in my review but it's a nice tent. INHO there isn't a better value for your money and that's due to the very large annex, high quality material and the space above the annex to climb into.
they are pretty easy to move around...eight bolts. check out my review video for a closeup of the rack mounting system on my Tuff Stuff, which is very similar to yours.

you may just need longer bolts like I did.
Hello everyone! I purchased a Tuff Stuff 4x4 Overland Roof Top Tent and annex about 4 months ago. I have no affiliation with the company and I paid full price, so you'll get an honest review from me. I decided to do an independent review for everyone that is looking for a Roof Top Tent to...

I would also encourage you to look for a trailer...it is very nice to be able to leave the tent up in camp and go wherever I want to go. I wouldn't like having to stow the tent every day to go wheeling and I would also be worried about hitting it on trees/etc, every time I wheel.
I have a Tuff Stuff 4x4 overland tent with a very large annex ($1300 shipped). It's very high quality! I am going to do a video review on it soon, but I have some pics and videos already in the links in my sig. I have 12 nights in it thus far (and my kids spent 7 nights on inflatable twin...
I have a gensis 100W panel ($104 shipped on amazon). I love it, VERY high quality with a good warranty. I have some details in my youtube video (link in my sig). My charge controller is an el cheapo, but it works great too. Most people here would probably not like it ($20).
What kind of awning is that, and do you know how wide it is where it attaches at the trailer? My rack is 73" long and I want to buy an awning for the side since my tent goes off the back. Thanks!
For comfort at most campgrounds the fiberglass trailer is great. for comfort offroading and wheeling, the RTT/Jeep trailer will have all your friends envious. I wouldn't count on the wife or kids liking it long though. But when I am way up in the sierra, it sure is nice, when all the other...
true story...it rained so much I am sure we would have still needed tarps. I just remember my daughter staying inside the tent - I was happy that the tent stayed dry, but I also remember we hung a lot of tarps in camp. I am surprised we were even able to get the fire started with how wet...
you can still find some great ones out there, with patience and good searching. Mine had hardly any rust, and what there was, was surface rust (pretty good for 51 years old!). Plus, i snagged it for $900!
Thanks for the info! If it weren't for the fridge, I would only be running 1 optima. Even then, they are only 75 ah each. We don't get many clouds out here in CA in the summer, the real pain is unbolting the panel and keeping it in the sun (the pine trees tend to cast long shadows, as do...
This guy's site is great. he confirmed some things that i noticed when building my small little offroad trailer's system, and he also showed me I did a few dumb things that need to be fixed!!
what I don't see is an explanation of the types of charging. my optima's can be charged on generator...
