    2016 trucks: Ram 2500 or GMC 2500?

    I got the 6' bed because of the crew cab wheel base. I didn't want to be too long since the purpose of the truck is towing and off road driving. I also have a GMC k2500 regular cab 8' bed that I use for most of my hauling/dirty work.

    OK... but here's the thing... A new Toyota Tacoma...with a 4 cylinder...has a payload rating of 1620 lbs. My wife's 2011 Honda Pilot has a payload rating of 1600 lbs. You all are telling me a 7,400 lb 3/4 ton diesel powered American truck that has a tow rating of 17,500 lbs...can't handle...

    Thanks for chiming in! I agree Lance campers are heavy. The models we are looking at are easily in the 3000 - 3400 lb range. I drove both the 2500 and the 3500. I prefer by FAR the ride of the 2500, especially with the airbags. To my understanding, the drivetrain and axles are the same...
