Jeep TJ with 2" Lift - Rooftop Tent Handling?

I really like the idea of an adventure trailer of some sort but they are just so much money! Does anyone know of any inexpensive DIY plans out there for one? This could work so that I could drive pretty far and wheel/explore a bit without worrying about the tippy-ness of a RTT.

Jeep TJ with 2" Lift - Rooftop Tent Handling?

Hi All, I have a 2005 Jeep Wrangler and I am looking into getting a rooftop tent like a Tepui Ayer or Kukenam. I wanted to know if anyone has experience on how adding a rooftop tent to their Jeep effected the handling? Does it still handle ok? How is off-road use? Does it feel tippy? Any help...

    NEMO Cosmo Insulated 50L

Thanks Christophe! It definitey looks like a great pad and I honestly have not seen a bad review of it. Do you have any recommendations on double sized sleeping bags?

Yes, that is where I found the pad from my original post. It is the only double sized one he mentions though, so I am wondering if there are any other pads that people have experience with and recommend. Thanks! :)

Primarily these trips will be my fiance...

They also have a new blue color available that I haven't seen before. I may have to order a 45 for myself... hmm!

No, it is pretty stock. I am running a 2" lift with 31s which may go to 32s when I have to change tires someday. Overall that is how I plan to keep it so maybe the extra weight won't be all too bad for me.

    **Tepui RTTs and Accessories**

Yeah, the weight is one thing I am a little concerned with. I don't want to limit myself on the trail because of being extremely top heavy. I don't know how my TJ would react to the RTT. I know when I have my rack on and unloaded I can feel a pretty drastic difference in handling on mountain...

I am looking at getting either the Ayer SKY or the Kukenam SKY before too long. How does the Ayer fit two smaller people? Both my girlfriend and I are under 6' tall so I was thinking the Ayer could work for us. I just don't know if the additional 8" of width is worth $425 more... Not to mention...
