Quick review: WiFi Ranger Everest for LTE data

Recently bought a WifI ranger everest in the hopes of getting some data on the trail for work. https://wifiranger.com/shop/outdoor-routers/everest/#color I picked one up with a Cat 4 and Cat 6 modem. I have t-mobile on the Cat4, and the FreedomGo service (ATT) on the Cat 6. Initial test was...

    Water container with spigot/hose

I got a Wavian water jerry can - great quality. It has a standard 3/4" garden hose outlet on the bottom that I put a quarter-turn valve and GHT quick connector on. I wish the outlet was metal, like the FrontRunner tank, but it's working so far. I can use it as a gravity spout, or hook it into my...

Sold: BFG K02 235/85R16 tires set of 5, 80% tread, San Diego

I have a set of 5 BF Goodrich 235/85R16 tires. These are tall skinny tires. 1 tire is new - 100% tread - kept as spare 4 tires have 12/32" tread left (80%) Tires have about 7k miles on them No tears, never been patched or plugged. The only damage is cosmetic on the two of the tires sidewall -...

Sold: Front Runner Maxtrax Side Mount roof rack

Please note this includes only 2 quick pins. You'll need two more from here: https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.com/en/us/maxtrax-monting-pin-set.html I can't find the original mounting eye nuts, so you'll need those quick pins. The quick pins are far superior than the eye nuts anyway $70...

Do you use relays for your air locker solenoids?

Alright haha.. no relays here's what I did locker air path is: tank -> water trap -> barrel regulator (step down to 80 psi) -> manifold. Manifold has both solenoids, a little air gauge, 80 psi relief

    Quality USB-C Panel Mount?

Not exactly. That has a built-in charger (with low output) and not a fan of the voltage display. Just looking for a simple panel-mounted usb-c plug to hook up to the charger that Hour posted.

    Quality USB-C Panel Mount?

Nice find! I've also been searching weeks for something like that. The only piece left of the puzzle for me is a USB-C flush panel mount (to fit a ciggie hole). Do you know of one? I've only been able to find this: https://www.usbgear.com/CG-U3CMCF20-PM.html

Do you use relays for your air locker solenoids?

I'm preparing to install air lockers. Looks like the solenoid coil uses about half an amp. I'm using some factory switches that I believe are rated at 10 amps. 15 foot or so 16 AWG wire run. I see no real reason to use relays, but the idea of putting current through a switch also feels kind of...

AMP-L-START compatible with Battleborn lithium batteries?

Ahh.. of course. Sometimes I miss the obvious solutions... Seems to be working well so far!

    Universal Fridge Monitor

I was about to jump on the ThermoPro, but not being able to display two channels at once was a dealbreaker. Couldn't find any quality ones, so I'm testing out this for now. Confidence is not high, and no backlight is a bummer...

AMP-L-START compatible with Battleborn lithium batteries?

I have everything wired up, details in a separate thread if anyone is interested. It looks like I need to break the alternator to BCDC connection whenever the SBC is on. Right now I have the alternator hardwired to the BCDC. When the magnum connects (truck off, solar on), the BCDC starts...

LifePO4 and solar build for my Land Rover

Alright I'll bench that for now.. I put it in the truck today. Fits like a glove! Still testing and tweaking. The solar was putting 8 amps in, the SBC would connect after a minute or so, then disconnect as it pulled the voltage too low, then repeat again. Starter batt is at 12.2 at the moment...

LifePO4 and solar build for my Land Rover

Alright, good to know it's not as simple as I thought. Powerfilm panel is 15.4v, renogy is 17.7v. Is that a showstopper in of itself? Can a diode simply be wired between the positives of the panels? Is there a product for that that works on 8 AWG? I'm imagining like a midi fuse holder, except...

LifePO4 and solar build for my Land Rover

I thought that was only an issue in series? In parallel they each just put out what they can? My renogy eclipse mono panels have bypass diodes in them. The powerfilm I don't know, but I would assume so as it's designed for low light conditions, used in the military, and has amorphous cells...

LifePO4 and solar build for my Land Rover

Yeah, you're right. I'm going to wait and see how this setup does. Even with no solar, 100AH should last me 3-5 days parked. I rarely stay in one place longer than that. The Powerfilm is really nice though, it folds up like a blanket and only weighs 6 pounds. You don't think the Powerfilm would...

LifePO4 and solar build for my Land Rover

Here's the guts of the panel. I fired it up in my living room, and everything works as expected. Can't test the BCDC and magnum until I put it in the vehicle. Not as pretty as the front no doubt, but gets the job done. Red SB175 Anderson plug = alternator hookup to BCDC Yellow SB175 Anderson =...

LifePO4 and solar build for my Land Rover

You must not use very much power, to be recharged by 10:30 am on 180w / ~10-12 amps Since my 200w is fixed, I'm planning to add a portable folding solar blanket to give that extra bit of juice and flexibility. Got my heart set on the Powerfilm 120W, buy once cry once... is it worth ~1300...

LifePO4 and solar build for my Land Rover

Best? Beast? Haven’t weighed it yet. Fridge slide is the heaviest part.. I think it’s close to 30 pounds by itself. The rest is all aluminum and 1/4” hdpe for the panels... so maybe 50 pounds total
