Question for those that have used the Timbren suspension system...

I believe that you can buy a 3500# frame with lighter pads. I should have gone lighter with mine, but they are sweet.

Why fenders instead of wheel wells?

I had the exact thought and did partial wheel wells. You actually gain quite a bit of space when you include the lid space. Most people dont do is that way as it is harder to build.

    Jeep trailer is done

I think so. The tube is 3/16. I think we all just over engineer everything we do. My rocksliders are welded to the frame with three pieces of 1/4 inch tube, about 18 inches out, and they handle a 6000lb jeep landing hard on rocks. I think that 3/16 can handle a tire 10 inches out that...

    Jeep trailer is done

The original build took me about 5 months on this, but it has been sitting since the beginning of the summer. I had about 20 hours of work left to finish it and then it was off to paint and for bedliner. But it is all done. Here is the original build thread...

    Offroad trailer build on 40's.

I had a few minor things to be done on this before paint. I driller all the holes for the Rotopax, and a few other items. I got those done this weekend. I finally dropped this thing off to get painted and then have bedliner put in. I should have it back in a couple weeks, and them am done.

    Offroad trailer build on 40's.

I took it to a 3rd party place and it was super simple. They didnt give a crap. For homebuilt if you want to declare a value over $1000 then you need receipts for 50% of what you claim the value is. They checked lights and signals and that was it.

    Offroad trailer build on 40's.

If you are talking about above the tire, then there is enough. There is about 3.75 inches above the top of the tread. According to Timbren, the most their setup compresses is about 2.5 inches. Some pictures it looks deceiving. The edge of the fender has tubing in it, but that is not above...
