Hey all, My wife and I are selling off the majority of our business, and need to free up some capital for other projects. Sadly this means I need to part ways with my beloved GFC camper. This is one of the first builds from GFC and it has served us very well. This topper is fully loaded...

Owyhee that was exactly what im looking for! even with the mid high cab & raft trailer! thank you! P nut- I travel around the country to climb/run/sup/ski, and use my vehicle as a mobile base camp. My ex drove a 2013 forester and it just doesn't cut it size wise. Basically I need 4x4, decent...

Real world MPG of 2.7L 4x4 5spd Tacomas?

Thanks kermit, There are many factors other than mpg improvement that are making me look into a new truck, but it lessens the blow a bit when you drive 1500miles/month!

Real world MPG of 2.7L 4x4 5spd Tacomas?

With financing rates so abnormally low at the moment, Im thinking about upgrading my 01' SCd extended cab w/255/85s& 2.5 in coil overs that gets ~16mpg hwy for a simple 2013 4cyl access cab. One of my main motivations is to increase fuel economy and not have to buy premium gas. Basically I'm...

Word from Discout tire.. NO aftermarket steel wheels fit 98+ taco without spacers??

Which pro comp wheels are you running/ work? I think the wheelers wheels are going to be a little cost prohibitive with shipping + lugs.

Word from Discout tire.. NO aftermarket steel wheels fit 98+ taco without spacers??

Maybe I will try to contact unique directly to see what they know. On their website it says craggar classic in the top right corner which makes me wonder if they are just rebranded craggar wheels.

Word from Discout tire.. NO aftermarket steel wheels fit 98+ taco without spacers??

Trump, I've looked at that and suggested the unique 42's that are listed to discount (they sell ALOT of unique wheels there). Was told that they didn't think they would fit. Im not a huge fan of discount either, but the manager there has taken great care of me and has offered to do the wheel...

Word from Discout tire.. NO aftermarket steel wheels fit 98+ taco without spacers??

Wheelers looks like a good deal. 300+ seems a little steep for steel wheels but it may be worth it. Does anyone know about the wheelers 1/4" spacer? Is that enough to cause the extra stress on the front end? I kinda had my heart set on the D window look.

Word from Discout tire.. NO aftermarket steel wheels fit 98+ taco without spacers??

Searching for some black steel wheels to pair with some new 255/85 km2s. My friends down at discount tire did a bunch of calling/searching and have come to the conclusion that NO aftermarket steel wheels fit 98+ Tacoma without a spacer. (Id rather keep the bling than run spacers). This is...

How does one get into SAR?

So to clarify.... very few people get paid for SAR in the US. The only full team that comes to mind is YoSAR in yosemite, and they are basically a bunch of 5.11+ trad climbers that live in the valley and get paid on call to perform rescue under the supervision of full time climbing rangers. It...

    Hard to shift 01

I the bushing idea sounds like a good possible solution, however my truck only has 90K on it and most of the things ive read talk about replacing the bushing on really high milage trucks. Redline MT-90 will be on my list. I also forgot to mention that the truck seems to shift much better after a...

    Hard to shift 01

Hey all, My O1 taco w/ center force clutch is giving me grief... Its intermittently hard to shift into 1st from neutral, it lasts for the first few min of driving then goes away. I had the gear oil changed and added a lubricant which helped for about a month. The problem isn't constant and seems...

Looking for a hand held 1st HAM

OK so lets clear some things up.... As a SAR team rescue professional, at least in my area, you can tx on government channels. A rescuer you have a designated government radio call sign, just like a police/firefighter, and you use the radios JUST as they would. We even have our own tactical...

cheep roof top rack options for a topper

Hey everyone, I am in need of a roof top rack for my topper, however I am on a super tight student budget. I have heard of several people taking racks off of SUVs in junkyards and transplanting them onto there toppers. I think that may be a good way to go for me. It does not need to be a super...

"None of the Yaesu HT's mentioned will transmit on the band you referred to without illegally modifying them. The oft mentioned MARS/CAPS mods are illegal to use, ironically it's not illegal to make the actual mods. " So after talking to some more people on the team, I have to have a completely...

"You won't be able to legally use a radio that the FCC has type accepted for the amateur bands in that frequency range. However, you may be able to find a radio that works in reverse. Some broad spectrum commercial radios may work for both purposes." Huh.... well this is the model i have been...
