Thanks for the info. Also glad to here the 3yr report about OMEs. I'll keep saving for OMEs and 5100 shocks if Social Security doesn't go under. :) Doug

Sway Away vs Old Man Emu Torsion Bars

IncorpoRatedX How do the two compare ride wise? Is one stiffer that the other? I'm guessing the OMEs are in between the stock and sway-aways? Are the sway-aways necessary if no HD rock crawling?

Sway Away vs Old Man Emu Torsion Bars

I'll be glad to see the responses you get for this. I've been wondering about ADD, they sell OMEs and these http://shop.adventuredrivendesign.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=71_72&product_id=70 Not sure how they compare ether. Maybe these are from Swayaway, they're the right color. Doug

DRB II vs. test light or voltmeter

I read somewhere that you could get the info you need with a test light or analog voltmeter instead of the DRB II called for in the FSM. Now I cannot find it. I tried a search but came up empty, probable me. Can someone put the procedure here or direct me to the info. Thanks Doug 1989 Dodge...

    Montero reliable?

Can you educate me on this? I'm new to Mits. I just got a Gen 1 (Dodge Raider), V6, 5sp and like the way it shifts. I always liked manuals. Other than using the right lube for the syncros what else do I need to look for? What is different between the two? If the newer trans is so much better...

    1991 Montero Build Vlog

Great start to a thread, keep it up. An '89 Raider followed me home a month or so ago. Surprising good shape for having to use a chainsaw to get it out of the weeds. Passed smog test first try. Will be following your thread and learning. Doug

    Rubber floor for Express Van

I wish you could find them. I have phoned Weather Tech and others and don't found anything. I have a 2004 Express 2500 but it would be the same. Replacement from Chevy was like $800. I would also go with ones for each side but the above phone calls just wanted to sell me universal, cut to fit...

    GM van rear axle questions

Great, I'll be glad to see what they come up with. Have not heard any good things said about the caddy calipers. Never tried them myself but heard they are a bad design. must be true or they would not be developing their own. Thanks Doug

    GM van rear axle questions

I looked at that and the P/U but the wms-wms on the van is wider. Now that I think about it, the Suburban that I looked at was not that new so maybe I did miss out. Live and learn. Thanks Doug

    GM van rear axle questions

You mean you asked on Ruff Stuffs website? If so let me know what you find out. The trouble I am having is their kit (and most all others I have found) only work on the old style 14 bolt. Mine is the new style, the drum comes off without removing the hub. Doug

    GM van rear axle questions

Can I wake this older thread up? I have a 2004 Express 2500 and I picked up a 14 bolt out of a 2000 Express 3500. No matter how much you read you will always learn more when you get the parts home, like the early Express( my axle) up till 2002 had 68.5" wms-wms then in 2003 went back to the 70"...

On the recommendation of our own theksmith, thanks BTW, I got http://www.alpinequest.net/ yesterday.
