I agree wholeheartedly about the lack of good looking winch bumpers for 3rd gens. I love the AEV bumper and considered the same option. I hope you do this, I'd love to see how it turns out. In the mean time, here's what I'm currently running. I'm happy with it so far.

Its an expensive option but I've been extremely happy with my Mopar "big box" upgrade. I didn't update the pump until a few years later though and wished I'd done it at the same time because it really made the box shine and turning these 37's is effortless...

I have to do the same on mine. I can lock it with the key but the power actuator doesn't work. Im hoping that cleaning it like you did will solve the problem.
