    2010 FWC Hawk For Sale

2010 Four Wheel Camper, Hawk Model, $13,500 Very good condition and loaded with most options available except for the roof rack. The queen bed is still there, but we have gone to a double mattress so as to be able to leave the bed made up and not have to deal with the queen bed extension...

Jerry can mounting, flat side down

I ran two Nato cans on their sides for years in a rack on top of my Tacoma. Used a rubber mat under them and a rachet strap to hold them down. Never had a single problem. In the pix you can see I used herculiner on them as well. BX

    Interior pics before the Conversion

Hey Mark, If you are interested in the lifter (gas struts) mod, I could stop by the shop sometime and show you how I did it on my Hawk. Right now the camper is on the ground at my place (East Mesa) for the next month, but your welcome to stop by if you wanted to see it sooner. Good luck with the...

    Jack's 2007 Chevy with a 2008 FWC Hawk

Thanks for posting pix of Dixie Point lookout. Looks like a place I will have to see next trip to my son's (lives in Chester). We also have a Hawk and couldn't be more happy with it (and the followup customer service from FWC). BX

    New to us, FWC Grandby

Nice rig Mike. I'm considering doing a similar reefer swap, the 3-way just doesn't cut it when the ambient temp is 100+. Looks like it's time for an avatar change (lol).:ylsmoke: BX

2009 Dodge Power Wagon tie rod end failure

FYI A discrepancy in the H46 service recall from Dodge may have the answer to why the broken tie rod ends are happening. See my post #42 on the DodgeTalk forum. BX http://www.dodgetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=325421&page=3

Lipstick on a Pig: The 10 Don'ts of Vehicle Modifications

I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet, so I will. CB and Ham are not mutually exclusive! I have a 2m ham radio, handheld CB, and a couple of FRS radios in my truck. I also have a satellite phone (so shoot me). I can lend one FRS to someone so that I can relay comms from the rest of the group...

    Advice on Interim Fridge Power

I used my ARB in my Tacoma for several years before I added a second battery. I just turned the fridge off when I went to bed and turned it back on in the morning when I started out again. The temp would only rise about six degrees (32 to 38) on most occasions. Less in cooler climes. Also had...

    National Luna Portable Power Pack

I have a NLPPP and dual batt controller which I ran strapped down in the bed of my Tacoma for 5 years without ever having one problem with it. Bought it in South Africa before they were available here. Of course I sold my Tacoma a year ago so it's been sitting in the garage ever since as my...

    Bfg t/a 35" (17") free!

Tires are promised to a member, will repost if there is a change. Location: Mesa, AZ I recently changed tires and have four 315x70x17 BFG T/A tires (35x12.5x17). Two have 8-9/32, and the other two have 6-7/32 of tread left. Hate to just trash them, so if anyone needs a spare, or used tires to...

    Fridge storage

FWIW, I have had my 43qt ARB for 6 years (bought it used). Has always been in my truck, but only turned on when I want to use it (a trip, shopping meat at costco). It is turned off sometimes for a month or more at a time. Never have had a single issue with it. Best mod ever for my travels. BX

    Pneumatic roof lift for FWC

Linda, I don't currently have any extra weight on my roof. I do plan a 100w solar panel (20lbs +/-) after the first of the year. My roof was very hard to lift (impossible for Amy) before, now it goes up pretty easy after initial push to get it started. Bringing it down, I have to pull on the...
