    Electric Chain Saw

Looks like the Echo is the preferred one. I have an Echo (gas) trimmer and leaf blower and both have been decent quality, with zero repairs needed in close to ten years of use. Not even a spark plug yet! I bemoan another battery system, but price : performance ratio is on the mark there for my...

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

More Africa camping, 2001. That's Ed behind the 101 door and I think Shane is inside the 101

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

North Africa, 2001. Trying to repair the rear tub, as it was dropping onto the frame and the back door was having issues... (I'm in prison orange; my rider, Wilson, is in blue) Shane, who drove the 101, is behind us.

Outstanding video comparing wide versus narrow tires

I have always run 255/85-16 on the stock 5.5" wide Rover wheel. Wheel should be wider, but it works. (I run the tube wheel tubeless, so beads are easier to break for repairs as needed- no issue losing a bead on some nasty "roads" over the years) I like the "geek" look- very similar to the first...

Texas to Alaska to Texas. 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid driving on the Dalton Highway and the Dempster Highway. July/August 2023.

I've not visited for a while but it's great to see your progress! I recognize many of the same places you are visiting! I was there in February, so the scenery was quite different, but we drove a lot of the same roads and visited a lot of the same places. Keep going!

    Land Rover ideas for Jeeps

I just got the kit to mount the shovel to my wing top. Didn't the old jeeps mount a shovel on the side of the tub? The kit (from Rovers North) would work for that too I'm sure. And they even sell shovels, if you don't want to track down ex-MOD ones.

Pump GPM for a dishes sprayer/camp shower?

I used a boat demand pump in Africa and recycled it into the Defender. I was able to get two showers and two shaves out of a5-gallon can that lived on the back door for solar heating all day. Nice hot water when we made camp each night. The defender set up uses a heat exchanger and a fixed...

Has anyone tried out the new Frontrunner Wolfpack Pro boxes?

It’s the 21st century. We need a carbon fiber option.

EDC onboard water system worth it?

Mine is set up for a shower, but it can be used for other things. My tank is permanent and stainless steel. (Fills from inside the truck) I have a marine demand pump that pulls it up and through a “whole house” water filter. Then it splits and half goes through a plate heat exchanger under...

Show off you Laptop/Tablet/GPS mounts please

I designed and fabbed up this aluminum plate that spans the gage pod screws (outboard of the gages) to the underside of the dash pad. VERY secure, and as you can see, another gage (or two) could be added, switches maybe, and a large mount work fine. I run a Garmin Marine GPS on the other side of...

    Add water tank gauge?

That green garden hose meter is one I use for filling (and other uses) that I thought might work. It could be placed in-line easily enough, and inexpensive (and small) enough to carry a spare. But I like the KUS America option, and that works well in my particular tank, with a top fill opening...

DIY Fridge slide build - 1/16" aluminum angle iron strong enough?

From the hip I would say 1/8" X 1" section will be more than strong enough if all attachment points are used. The issue with thinner wall material is twisting. I may suggest slightly thicker wall for the ones that attach to the truck floor, to ensure the rigidity of the drawer slides. If both...

    Electric Chain Saw

And just change blade and you can go clipping catalytic converters in the evenings! (not funny- former work had it stolen off the company truck... twice...)

Rear storage boxes (closed) for Land-Rover series II through 2016 defender

I may have located some suitable boxes. Lids are not attached, so if I go for them, I may add a lanyard to keep the lid close by. But I wanted to show you all this: like many here, I have the airline seat rails in the rear of my truck. Probably since 2005/6 time frame. And the little loops that...

    Add water tank gauge?

I think it’s great! My tank is not pressurized but it’s not baffled either. I think it works out to 11 gallons in mine.
