Recent pic of a quick trip to the Hoh Rainforest in Washington. Since I've never seen a pic/vid of anyone using a hatch ladder with a RTT. It works well, only downside is with multiple people (me/wife/kid) you limit getting in/out of the tent since it requires the hatch closed which is also...

    Tallest 275 pizza cutter

Just a little food for thought too- My 285 BFGoodrich KO3 are an entire inch skinner than my 285 Duratracs. Differences in manufactures and all that. But pretty shocking to measure the actual difference.

They're 1x2 little cube (rectangle) lights... I don't know if the aesthetic would work. I think I'm gonna give ditch lights a go and see if that works well enough for me. Otherwise I'll cut holes in the bumper and recess them but that's more work haha.

Post-Tahuya. I need to figure out a good spot to put some 1x2 or 2x2 pod lights on the front end. I'm having a hard time finding a good spot. I kinda like the clean solid front bumper and don't wanna cut holes in it.

New tent lightweight and everything is replaceable -FeatherLyte Outdoors

A buddy of mine lives in Sweden and has used a tent with an open bottom like this for many years. His area of Sweden is pretty dry, but still he finds he HAS to dry the tent out thoroughly before closing it up using a diesel heater. I live in the PNW and agree, I don't know if an open bottom...

New tent lightweight and everything is replaceable -FeatherLyte Outdoors

Some very thoughtful features, I like it! The biggest takeaway for me is that the vertical supports that need to be installed might be difficult since you have to reach up to the top to extend/engage them. Maybe standing on the top of the ladder or reaching from inside the tent out a window...

Huge price increase for GAIA Maps!

I primarily use Gaia for vehicular travel although I do use it for hiking occasionally too. So I've always been interested in OnX since they promote vehicular travel a lot more and seem to be invested in OHV avocation and the community. I haven't switched because Gaia offers a lot more...

    2004 Tacoma SAS

Radiator guard looks nice. The 1st gen radiators drop so low! I've wondered if there's a comparable radiator out there that's slightly thicker, but shorter or something that I could swap in so that the radiator is tucked more up.

    Long Distance '85 Ranger Build

Thank you for sharing that trip, looks like it was awesome! So fun that your son was able to join. I have a 4 y.o. and we go camping a lot, but I'm on the cusp of starting to bring him on my "solo" more intense outings. It was fun to see you take him along with you.-

    Vancouver Island Grand Loop

I usually try to book a 4+ weeks in advance, earlier if possible. It gets really booked up, especially in the summer and around Labor Day. I went to Victoria over Labor Day weekend, but we walked on.

    Vancouver Island Grand Loop

The ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria can be a stressful one to do FCFS - it's doable as you found, but you gotta be super early and flexible. Way less stress if you have a reservation, but that can be hard if you don't know when exactly you'll be back. Reservations can fill up weeks/month in...

    Inside/outside gear storage case recommendations?

I'm a fan of the Plano cases (e.g. Plano 68 or 110qt). They're light weight, spacious, and decently weatherproof as is. Some folks add rubber seals and stuff, but honestly I've had them on the roof in the rain, outside, etc., and never had any water ingress.

Mounting bumpers other than what is commercially available for LR3/4

I have a few friends who utilize receiver mounted winches and I've considered it in the past, however I have never seen a receiver mounted winch that nests into a bumper like that, pretty cool and unique idea! My friends all basically welded a (single, you mentioned double which is cool)...

    2004 Tacoma SAS

You must be a Western Washingtonian, that storm was cool! I might have to try to cross paths with you someday to check out your SAS 1st gen for inspiration I'm up in Kitsap county.

    2004 Tacoma SAS

That's an interesting little plate surrounding your interior HVAC vent. Looks like it has a little mount on it for something also? It caught my attention because in my 1st gen Tacoma I'm brainstorming where to mount my phone and GMRS radio mic and whatnot.

    2004 Tacoma SAS

What I like about your build is that it's basically an OEM+ SAS using the 80-series as a base. Often when I see someone doing a SAS it's immediately to tons with major modification . This is exactly the type of SAS build I'd be interested in doing one day. Thank you for your effort sharing!

Looking recommendations on smallish power stations for portable fridge.

I have this Buetti and use it to primarily run my Alpicool LGCF45. I'm still testing, but it's run the unit for a solid 3-4 days in approx 55-70 deg temperature. I usually supplement via solar/alternator from my vehicle. I chose this battery because of price, and form factor- it's rectangular...

    Oops

Honestly, thank you for the reminder. I need to add some JB Weld and steel-stick type stuff to my kit. I've had friends temp goob up their oil pans or trans pans with it to limp out as well.
