That's a steal at that price for a 2.5 Gen in my area. I'd say do it! I know earlier model years had valley plate coolant leak issues, but I think that was just earlier years and I would assume they had it addressed by 2016. Something to look into more maybe. Tundras.com should have a buyer's...
Yeah my brother and I are both eyeing double cab 2nd gens for when we eventually move on from our 1st Gens. We both have kids in carseats still and the back seat is more or less the same size from double cab 2nd Gen to crew cab 1st. The crewmax bed is pretty small, so double cab is probably a...
I owned a 2008 crewmax with the 5.7 for a little bit, and yeah they're great trucks as well. Unreal how roomy the cabin is, tons of storage space inside, and it had so much more power than my 1st Gen does. Highway cruising, passing cars, going up mountain passes etc. was definitely more...
How is a Gen 1 tundra bigger than a 14+ F-150? Have you driven one? The turning radius is pretty abysmal, as far as your point on maneuverability goes. That's probably my main complaint with my 2006. One of my brother's had an 06 Tundra, sold it for an 18 F-150, had nothing but problems and...
Instead of fabbing an entire canopy, would it be easier to just/buy/use an existing canopy and then a taller rack on the cab of the truck to match the height?

It will negatively affect your gas mileage, and possibly keep you from parking in a garage depending on your vehicle/tent etc. They also do get stolen off of people's cars, but that is probably more area dependant. Are you mounting to the factory roof rack or something aftermarket?

Looks clean for the mileage! You should color-match that grille. Here's my Tundra in the same color. (Yes I need to address the peeling old plasti-dip or paint from a previous owner.)

Nice! Lucky kid to have that as his first car! What are you going with for suspension? Everything up to date with the transmission services? I've read the earlier model year 460's have pretty common transmission issues if the fluid hasn't been changed regularly, and maybe even still if it has...
Do you say the same thing to all the people on big global expeditions with their social media pages on their vehicles and who run websites documenting their travels, like plenty of members on this forum? Eat a Snickers dude.
Such an awesome build dude. How does the flip-pac do in the winter with the rain fly and diesel heater? Stay pretty toasty inside? What's the coldest temperature you've camped in?
