    EarthRoamer XV-JP "Northwest Edition"

As it pertains to point #3 and the struts, they now make a replacement that allows you to open the windows 90*. https://ternoverland.com/90-cam-lock-window-struts-medium-for-400mm-taller-arctic-tern-windows/ Huge improvement. Agree that their cassettes could be slimmer and the embossed pattern...

    2007 Silverado - Buy Once, Cry Once: 1-tons, 40's & a Custom Camper

That tray (and the rest of your work) looks awesome. Are you going to integrate a bumper into that rear skirt somehow? I would worry that anything more than a low-speed nudge could be a real headache. I know you integrated the hitch and winch mount which would provide protection in a bigger...

    2022 Ford F350 Suspension

As mentioned, I’m running 37s on a 2024 SD. The lift is approximately a 2-3” level. We’re saying the same thing, I’m just being more specific for the SD platform since I’ve built a couple recently. You’re missing some details and it isn’t quite true that you need 5” of lift to actually help in...

    2022 Ford F350 Suspension

Technically, the offset only affected the “in” and “out” of the wheel relative to its mounting surface. Lift is what (more or less) can help the body of the truck clear larger tires/wheel combos. Regardless, the important decision is what size wheel and tire is the OP, or anyone, planning on...

    2022 Ford F350 Suspension

Not on pre-‘23s with stock wheels unless you’re only looking at the mall. They will rub offroad, especially with anything wider than 12.5s and minimal lift. More lift and less offset will give more clearance, but most combinations of wheel, lift, and tire on pre-‘23s also need new radius arms...

    2022 Ford F350 Suspension

I think you’ll still need an adjustable track rod and some way to correct castor (drop brackets, radius arms, etc). These trucks once lifted like more than the 2-3* of castor from factory. Obviously, you’ll also need rear shocks. The most important question remains unanswered - what size tire...

    2022 Ford F350 Suspension

Depending on the time scale, all suspension components are wear items. The rebuild schedule is something to consider with many of the shocks that have been suggested here. One possible advantage of the larger 2.5s is that since they have more oil, they may be able to go longer between servicing...

    2022 Ford F350 Suspension

Right around 11k. Personally, I’d choose custom springs and save money on the shocks. Getting proper springs really helped my body control way more than the shocks did.

    2022 Ford F350 Suspension

I’d wait until you’ve gotten your batteries updated and whatever else you need and then have custom leafs made for your weight. I’d also figure out what size tire you’re planning and then build the lift around that. A new rear leaf pack will let you get rid of your factory lift block which will...

Anyone disconnect their front sway bar?

I know you weren’t asking me but rear only will increase the tendency for oversteer. On our camper, I have no sway bars on either end. As @rruff points out, you must change your driving style with vehicles like these. I’ve hit black ice and had the rear end try to come around. I was already...

    I'm BACK!!! 2023 F-250 Tremor build

Gotcha. Yeah, the fit is super tight lol and the BD paint and anodization is pretty thin. Anyhow, glad they’re working. TBH I haven’t taken them on a proper night drive so I probably should wait before replacing them and putting them on the a-pillars. Regardless, nice truck and setup! I think...

    I'm BACK!!! 2023 F-250 Tremor build

I assume you run them as long-distance on-road lighting? That had been my primary intent. I guess I’ll keep messing with them. Did you need new surrounds for a specific fitment reason? They are super tight to the lights themselves I noticed.

    I'm BACK!!! 2023 F-250 Tremor build

I have the same BMC Apex-L setup and have a question about aiming. Did you have any trouble getting the XL80s adjusted enough to point towards the midline rather than way off to the sides? I have them setup the way BMC suggests and they are just way too far off towards the outsides. TBH, I...

Anyone disconnect their front sway bar?

My biased and unasked opinion - If anyone is going to get upgraded leaf packs, I’d look to see if there is a local manufacturer to build a custom set rather than going off-the-shelf elsewhere. My rationale is that leaf springs are a pretty mature technology so the manufacturing and engineering...

Anyone disconnect their front sway bar?

@Trail Talk - They are super easy to remove and re-install. You are overthinking things. If you like it, done. If you don’t, put them back on. I’m not sure how much you’ve done for suspension otherwise, but having the right springs and shocks also make a huge difference in the sensation of swaying.

Anyone disconnect their front sway bar?

    Yes, details here.

Anyone disconnect their front sway bar?

I've always removed the swaybars on all my off-road vehicles. As @Peter_n_Margaret note, it can add a bit of a nautical sensation in turns. I take that as feedback to slow down. I've never had a true safety issue and have tens of thousands of miles across four different trucks all swaybar free...

    Hard side decisions

I agree, which is why I didn’t get one. The Supertramps seem ok but not being a flatbed would dissuade me immediately.

    Hard side decisions

It is traditional stick built with aluminum skins, iirc. The quality overall seems much higher than standard, however. They are willing to do a lot of customization and their products seem really well built. I spoke with them a lot before deciding to go with a TC camper body. I chose to go with...

    Hard side decisions

We’re two adults and one kid - keeping weight <2k wet will be really, really tough. I agree with everyone suggesting a flatbed because the additional space for ppl and storage will really come in handy. Keeping kids happy requires a lot of gear sometimes lol. We built a custom Total Composites...
