FS: Five MPT Tires, 12.5R20 (335/80R20)

For sale, five MPT tires - $150 per tire. They have about 20k kilometers (12.5k miles). Not sure of the age. They came on our 1990 U1300L Unimog that was surplus from the German Military. The Mog clocked in at 400km when brought over to the states. The tires still had injection flashings when we...

This seems to be what you want: http://atlas4x4.de/portfolio-item/hilfsrahmen/ I'll be getting one shipped to Colorado soon for our U1300L. We are also building a camper box on top of that...

    Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS)

I am trying to figure out an aftermarket TPMS solution for our U1300L Unimog. What I’d like is the current tire pressures for our 4 tires. I’d also like sensors for the two spares. So, six total sensors with only 4 being monitored at once. I’d also like to have adjustable low and high pressure...

    How tall is too tall?

Question: For an "Around the World" vehicle, how tall is too tall? I am really hoping to get opinions from people who have actually done a multi-continent, multi-year trip. The reason I’m asking is that we are trying to figure out what to do for a camper for our Unimog 1300L: My wife and I...

FYI on some solar panel sales

The problem with these cheap per Watt 24V panels is that they are huge. As in, even if they fit in my roof (or whatever), they seem like they will break on the first hard bump that I hit... Maybe I'm just scared for no reason. After pushing on the center of and seeing the deflection of my 100W...

FYI on some solar panel sales

Yeah, I am thinking it is key to reinforce as well. I was contemplating 1/8" (or thicker) aluminum angle to attach the panels to my load bars on my Chaser. Any other real-world experience with mounting these? BTW, SolarBlvd has the 100W at $1.25/W...

So, did anyone ever install these Solar Cynergy panels on a vehicle or trailer? I'm really curious how strong the frames and glass are? Thanks for any feedback!

    Sleeping pads?

We use one of these: http://www.foambymail.com/foam-mattresses.html With a zip-up-able cover: http://www.foambymail.com/mattress-accessories.html It's really comfortable in the back of our truck. Very similar to home... It may be a bit unwieldy taking it in and out of a tent everyday, though.

Towing my RV with the K2500

Are you gonna start carrying a spare thermostat? Did it run too cool without one? Scary story (at least from your trucks perspective)... Glad your vehicle seems ok!
