Makes sense. I just put my panels on the roof rack if we are going to be base camping for a while. For shorter stops, I just rely on the battery capacity. Then the batteries get topped up by the charging system of the Jeep as we move to the next stop. Are the LiFePo4 batteries different then a...

I'm curious what are you using while camping that you need that much amperage? Do you have an air conditioner? Even on really hot days, when our fridge runs all the time, and the radio and lights on, our 100w of panels are more then enough. I do like the lightweight battery idea. How are...

They got me the info I wanted about the springs. He also evaluated what I currently had. The current spring pack can run up to three helper springs. I was only running one. I ordered two more for each side and the extended spring bolt. That was a cheaper then a new spring pack. Once installed...

Maybe the catches need to be shimmed up so the doors can't bounce over them. We take our trailer through a lot of rough terrain and haven't had any issues to speak of. I did notice with it completely outfitted it was starting to compress the springs too far. I called SoCal to see what type of...

You could save some weight and cost by having the trailer use the same spare as your tow vehicle. You get a flat, use the spare and head for town. On the very rare occasion you get two flats, you can always disconnect the trailer and come back for it with fixed tires. How remote are you actually...

That's who built ours. No complaints. Good workmanship, courteous and responsive to any issues. I'd recommend them.

The fridge doesn't draw that many amps. If you're traveling during the day and camping at night, as long as your 12V feed is working, you probably won't need to hook up the solar. If I'm only camping for a day or two, I don't use the solar. I usually have the radio, lights and water pump using...

I second the fridge. Best purchase we made. There is a learning curve. Remember it's not ice. Don't pack the fridge with drinks. Stock it with a few and replace them as you use them. I'm not big on having all my solar mounted. Reason being I like the trailer in the shade so it stays cooler...

The hubs for these trailers aren't very expensive, and they are easy to swap. This is how my friend changed the wheels spacing in my old trailer from Jeep 5 lug to Toyota 6 lug. You might need to change to a longer stud and add a spacer if your wheels use a lot of backspacing. He didn't need...

Thought I would share a video my wife made while we were driving back from our vacation in our Teardrop. We spent 9 days in the road and every night but the last in the trailer. This was mostly a road trip but we still ended up doing several nice trails. There's a little video of the trailer in...

We use a 2012 Wrangler Rubicon with a manual transmission. Seems to do fine. I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 or P3 line of inertial brake controllers. They work great and you don't any jerking from the trailer off road when using the brakes lightly.

The teardrops do really well off road. They are softly sprung and they have adjustable shocks. So the body isn't getting jarred around. Granted I lower my speeds off road with the trailer and am a little more cautious but haven't had any issues. Just make sure you're comfortable backing a...

A TD run sounds like fun. We've got a trip to Cali coming up in the first part of June. After that we don't really have anything planned. Just plan for higher elevations so we can escape the heat. Lol Love the plate you have on that trailer.

Found some pics with the awning side walls on. We use those a lot in cold or windy conditions. These are from our trip to the Expo.

Just give me a heads up when you're heading this way. I'm realizing I don't have a lot of close pictures of the trailer. I'll post up some of the better ones, if you want to see more details let me know. The roof rack is just a 1" square tube frame with expanded metal for a platform. I made...
