    my camper/truck dilemma

We recently bought a slightly heavier TC800 (our 6th camper since 2020) and debating on "upgrading" to an HDPP optioned F150 or step up to an F250. Our truck is a 2013 Lariat supercrew EB with 6.5ft bed and tow package. I have already added Bilstein 5100's, rear sway bar, LRE KO2's, brake...

bought an Outfitter over the weekend

So on Friday I was cruising the classifieds and came across an Outfitter that was initially built for a long bed S10, the people selling were using it on a 2004 Ford Ranger. To be honest I had never heard of Outfitter, but after a quick google search I learned a few things and called them...

bought an 80's Six Pac camper

About 3 weeks ago we found a 1980's Six Pac after looking a few months, not sure which model it is but it has an 8 ft box, Dometic 3-way fridge, dual burner stove, full bed over the cab and a full dinette east-west bed, weight is 1295 lb wet. We will be using it on our 6.5 ft bed f150. So far I...

our new camping and tow rig, 2013 f150

Back in October I posted about my search for an f150, after a few months of searching I found a 2013 Lariat the first week of January. It was a one owner with 68k miles, 6.5 ft bed, supercrew with front bench seat, two-tone white with tan trim, and no sunroof. This combination is very rare and...

Do any of you live in or close to Fargo, ND?

I know it's a long shot, but there is a popup camper just east of Fargo I am very interested in and after I pay for it would need someone to pick it up and store it under a tarp until I the weather is reliable enough to make the 18 hour drive or have it picked up, or I can pay you to deliver it...

    09/10 5.4 f150 vs 11-13 5.0 f150

Looks like I have narrowed down my next truck to a 2009 to 2013 f150 supercrew with 6.5ft bed, this will be used for towing our boat and have a lightweight popup slide-in camper. I have read that the 6-speed auto made a big difference with the 5.4, and that it has more low end torque than the...

    06-08 Ram 1500 mega cab vs 09+ f150 supercrew

At some point soon I plan to replace our Yukon with another truck, we love the Yukon but I miss having a truck with slide-in camper. The trucks I am debating between are the 06-08 Ram 1500 mega cab and the 09+ f150 supercrew with 6.5 ft bed. In the Ram the leather package Laramie leaves much to...

    Ram Hemi towing experiences?

I have been missing having a truck with in bed camper and looking at replacing our Yukon XL, it has the 6.0 and tows our boat "okay". I want to find a decent used truck that will tow our boat (5k combined boat/trailer weight) and mount a lightweight popup camper (likely an FWC or similar), price...

    decisions, decisions....

So 2 years ago I sold our rare manual trans diesel Silverado because we needed 4 full doors as our family grew, had it been a 4 door instead of the extra cab I definitely would have never sold it, but thankfully it sold for more than we paid for it 3 years prior. We replaced it with a 2003 Yukon...

removed the cooling fan for the winter

As some of you know the 2500 model trucks come with a heavier duty cooling system and can take FOREVER to warm up in the cooler months, so last week I read up on removing the fan/clutch assembly on our 2003 Yukon 2500. After a lot of reading to support removal I decided to take it off on...

EGR valve, OEM or is aftermarket "okay"?

Got a CEL for the EGR on our 96 SR a few weeks ago, cleared it and came back on a few days later, removed it today and it's pretty gummed up. With sensors I stick with Denso or close to OEM as possible, but seems that the EGR valve is basic enough that they are pretty hard to screw up, am I wrong?

a quick tip regearding inadequate squirters

For your washer nozzles that is! So about 2 months back I noticed our 96 barely had anything coming out of the windshield washer nozzles, as it's not a regular driver for us I put it off until today. I grabbed a small fish hook from the garage and cleaned out the ports and properly aimed the...
