Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Thanks for the feedback on the sleeping width! I'm so tempted and I have a line on a used one that would save me around ~$3k. My only hesitation is debating if I will actually use it enough to justify the jump in cost over my current topper w/ easylift setup. Standing room would be so nice.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

I've been researching these and I need "real world" opinions on the width of the sleeping area. I always camp with my wife. We currently sleep on an Exped Megamat Duo 10 which measures 40" wide. It works in our current truck topper camper setup but its definitely "cozy". I've been looking all...

    Ez topper lift

I suppose it's all about what the intended use is, and how it works in your situation. I don't plan in living in it. I just want to be able to sit up in bed and have a comfortable place for my wife and I to sleep. FWIW I've never owned a tent I could fully stand up in either. I can stand up if I...

    Ez topper lift

Looks great! I also ordered one and installed it last month. I still haven't had time to build out the inside. I think it checks all my boxes for being usable, secure, easy to setup/breakdown and stealthy. I love the idea that if I want to go hiking for the day I can just lower it down and lock...

How did the install go? Seriously considering this setup as well.

This guy has some great vids of using his homemade GFC clone wedge camper.

Decisions...'18 XC, Ranger, or older used?

I feel like I could have written this thread myself. I went through all of the research over the last 6 months, ended up purchasing a month ago a 2020 Supercab XL FX4, but it does have options like carpeting (which I could do without but the rubber floor mats are pretty nice) and Copilot 360. It...

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

6 months of daily use will be a LOT of wear and tear. I would not expect any sort of "rental" arrangement.

    jeep jk unlimited camper project

I would imagine if you soaked the wood and put something heavy on it you could straighten it out. People bend plywood when making skateboard ramps by soaking it I believe.

    Post Pic's of your Jeep

Cool build. Wouldn't be hard to modify some 2 door windows with extra fabric to make it work but I'd like to see it finished off. Any pictures of the completed interior? Why eliminate the rear doors instead of just doing some half doors back there?

    Post Pic's of your Jeep

More info on this Jeep? Looks like half of a JK8 but with a standard 4 door soft top? Are there custom side windows for it? Interesting build, never seen one like that before.

Converting a factory JK/JKU hardtop to modular

Excellent write up, as are all of the ones you do. If you had to put a price on the labor involved, do you think it would be reasonable or cost prohibitive? I don't have the skills currently to tackle a job like this as I've never worked with fiberglass before so I'd want to start with something...

    Post Pic's of your Jeep

I would love to be able to get out like you do all the time! excellent photos. There just aren't many places around Florida that are photogenic and unpopulated. Everything here is private property.

    Snorkel Pre-Cleaner Options

Personally, lookswise I think your larger Donaldson looked fine on there. I would have kept that. I liked how it was wider than it was tall. Seems proportional to the size of the Jeep and intake. You mentioned that it sits above the roofline, but all of your options do. The Syclone doesn't look...

JK Tailgate Tables - The lowdown

I can't imagine those tools would stay put if you are bouncing around off road. Good job on the fab though.

Try using a hosting site like Photobucket.com and then link the pictures here. That is how I post all of my pictures on forums.

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Right on! Didn't realize you saw my thread over there. Glad to see more Jeeps with these wheels. I still vote body color paint match :) Thanks!

I love these wheels :) I also recommend paint matching them, especially with your silver Jeep. Mine are Stone White

I'm so jealous of wide open spaces where you can just pick a spot and deploy camp. There's nothing like that here, its all private property or a campground.

    Rear bumper water tank.

Oh I didn't realize this was such an old post that got bumped also. I've had my water tank for a year or so now. I ended up buying the "Aquabumper" kit from Jeep Karma. It wasn't too much more than pricing out the parts separately and it was really convenient to install.
