I'd avoid Guinea Conakry, pretty unstable right now.
In the late 1970s I passed through there on a motor cycle from Sierra Leone to Mali. That was at a time when the US and Guinea had no diplomatic relations. I used dollars and some kola nut to make it through.
My advice would be to try it outside. I never had any problems with the original set-up we used with the tank and adapter, but better safe than blown to hell.
There is a trade off with propane but from my 10 years of using the Baja with propane I don't see it as a huge issue. A lot of our camping and almost all of our initial 3 year road trip Isobutane and especially the snowpeak variety of canisters simply were not available. Try finding that in the...
Bought Back the Sportsmobile
Been a while since I've posted - a long while - but thought you all may be interested in knowing how and why we repurchased our T1N after five years in a truck camper.
This winter we spent 6 weeks in the southwest. A portion of that time was wet and cold. So wet...

I don't level and never expect to. We spent 20 years under tarps and inside bivies on all kinds of Alaskan beaches to worry about a 2% incline in the truck camper.
Not dead yet. Our trips in the last 18 months have been shorter and focused on the Oregon Outback and Idaho. Heading back to both next week (6/20/22). Some highlights from 2021 follow.
I've been using propane -- initially the green 1lb cans, and of late a 5lb -- with the baja stove for 10 years. I bought a Kovea LPG adapter which has a pressure controller intended for summer/winter adjustments, and also helps at different elevations. It works flawlessly. This past winter I...
I have a 2018 Retreat on a GMC 1/2 ton. They are very nice small truck campers. Those not familiar with the Capri might be interested in my review here http://www.truckcamperadventure.com/2018/11/review-of-the-2018-capri-retreat-truck-camper/
Tradition! .... This from a couple of different sources "Traces of ash found in the Wonderwerk cave in South Africa suggest that hominins were controlling fire at least 1 million years ago, the time of our direct ancestor Homo erectus. Burnt bone fragments also found at this site suggest that...
