Black Rat 3500# hand winch and a heavy vehicle

A 3500lb winch won't pull a soldier off your sister. They work as suck down winches on crawlers but that is it. Save your money and get an 8000 or larger.

2017 Tacoma TRD Offroad "Wilderness Wagon" Build

This is going in a magazine? There is nothing to besides advertising. Why not do something out of the box and Interesting! Instead of just throwing a catalog at it?

    Dura-Trac Follow Up Report:

Dura craps are the single worst tires I have ever owned. 2005 LJ on 33/12.50-15. Winch and bumper. Cut two tires on one rock, through the tread block to the rim lip. Straight through the sidewall. While at walking speed bear hunting with the family. Junk!

    New Air Hose?

Go get some trailer air brake lines off a highway tractor. Use one for short runs and both for bigger runs. Good quality quick connects are a must.

Filson Bags - Available For Sale?

Filson stuff is pretty terrible actually. If you get it wet it shrinks like crazy and doesn't fit anymore. I was at bass pro and they had a brand of similar looking bags that were corduroy instead of canvas. Nicer looking quality and cheaper. Buy three small ruck sacks and cut/mod the straps...

    Aluboxes From Equipt Expedition Outfitters

I was thinking the same thing. Soup cans, propane bottles and similar items will rub a LOT on a few hours on bumpy logging roads at speed. Foam liners or a spray on of some sort might help, and keep the vibration noise inside the vehicle to a minimum.

    Small Floor Jack?

I have a small floor jack that I use around home. I wouldn't pack it into the bush. To much space for too little use. A good bottle jack can be handy and the ever present high lift are better options.

    Introduction

No sorry. But it was super easy. Pop out the light, round the hole out with a die grinder, stuff the plug through and drill and bolt it on. Probably took me ten minutes.

How much do you think it will weigh?

    Picking a tire size

No never aired down with a load on. It will separate the tires. Same effect as driving at high speeds with aired down tires.

the very beginning of a Tacoma Build

My point was just based on experience. I lived in a camper for a few months. Not ideal. I would suggest buying an RTT set it up in your yard. Set it up and down every day. Fall down the ladder in the rain a few times, etc

    285/75R16 Tire Recommendations

I tried two sets of duratracs on two different vehicles. Both times they sucked. I had 285/75r16 on an 04 superduty extrnd cab short box. One trip up north on duracraps on mine roads they were junk. Rock chunked and way to soft. trip way ten days. BFG AT on the same truck lasted for three...

Ya and even that gets really old quick if it isn't set up right.

the very beginning of a Tacoma Build

Why not look at a real camper rather than an RTT? Something you can cook in and sit inside out of the rain. Even a Habitat would make more sense.

    Fear of the highlift?

Maybe I read it a little differently. About every fourth post is "I don't carry one because...., and they are dangerous"

    Fear of the highlift?

^yes exactly. Sometimes it is the only tool for the job. Dangerous or not. But judge from this thread the number of posters who posters who have parroted the sentiment that they would never use one because they are so dangerous.

    Picking a tire size

235/85r16. The most common truck size and one of the cheapest as well. Was the stock size on most of the 250 and 350 trucks like yours.
