Hi Clint,
Sorry to reply so late. My wife had to leave for Germany for family issues (her father is quite ill) -- kind of put this on the back burner. Still interested, but not immediately pressing as she will likely be gone for a month.
Hello,
Curious if your Tundra + Alucab is still available? My wife and I have been looking for something similar to your setup. If still available, I'd be interested in discussing a few details of your truck.
Thank you,

Regarding the tight difference between a Tundra and a Tacoma: I am comparing my 2012 Tacoma AC to the Tundra. I have really paid much attention to new Tacoma's honestly, so don't know if they are much bigger?
Will continue to research 2nd gens as well.
Sorry, typo in my editing WRT the size of the F150 -- I corrected it. Your reply is more or less in-line with what I suspect as well: newer vehicles are expensive and generally problematic, hence my search for a lower mileage, well kept 05-06 Tundra.
Hello,
My wife I had want something smaller than a full HD American truck. I have a '12 Tacoma, my wife a '19 Ranger; we've owned a full sized Ford. We are hoping to have something that is a bit easier to drive and maneuver than a fullsize, but bigger than a Tacoma. I am a huge Toyota fan and...
Nice find. My wife is rocking a 2019 Ranger FX4 Supercab with a GFC. It has been a great truck -- super reliable and great mileage for a mid-sized truck! Watching your build!
SOLD
GFC #369 for 2nd generation Toyota Tacoma longbed. Delivered to me in late 2019.
This is a “V1” GFC with steel frame; hinges were updated to the most recent style by GFC approximately 2 years ago.
The camper is in excellent condition with no tears or other damage. Slept in for less that...
Good question. I googled it a bit a the numbers are a bit difficult to find, but it looks like 48' (diameter, curb-to-curb) for the F450 vs 56' for the F350. I have not personally measured this, but I can tell you from personal experience, when turning in a parking lot, I was totally surprised...
I bought the truck lightly used and it already had a super single conversion with the Conti's. In truth, I doubt I actually need such tires, but as noted the truck already had several mods, including the SS conversion. I've not done a ton of research on tires, but I do think smaller tires...
My wife and I are mid-50's and planning to do almost exactly what your and your wife are planning to do. I plan to retire May 2025 and commence traveling for several months at a time. Our build is just coming together this month, hence I do not have experience to share regarding durability or...
I just saw this rig/camper today up at OAT in Olympia, WA where my wife and I were taking a look at our just completed camper (which is identical to the one in the add). This truck/flatbed/camper is a smoking deal and in immaculate condition, with all the logistics already sorted out.

As a native Californian I fully understand you desire to skip the genuflecting/grovelling at your local CA DMV. I'd just register the thing in Montana, quite easy.

Payload or towing capacity?
Here is payload for F350 vs F450, payload in all comparable configurations is higher on the F450 than comparable F350. I'll add that I have a chassis cab vs PU.

I think your reasoning is spot on. I can not speak specifically to the Tremor, but the 7.3 and the Super Duty platform is a solid package for extended travels. Consider bed length -- it is where your living space will be. We went with the "Super Cab" 60" cab-to-axle, with a 168" wheelbase...
Hello,
I am just getting started on the research for building the camper box on a new-to-me 2020 F450 chassis cab. I will most likely go with a total composite box (or similar). As far as configuration is concerned, I might forgo the cab over and go for a simple 'box' style habitat. I've...
