Nice truck Nico! Mine isn't the CRD engine, i don't think they came to the UK until 2007, and Patrols ceased to be available after 2009 here. So when the time comes for a change, i don't know what i will do, but that is some way off so i don't think i need to worry about that for a while! Can...

Auto hubs work engage automatically when 4WD is selected, but don't work in reverse. There is also a low-ish speed limit for enaging them. In "locked mode" they work in reverse and you can also select 4WD at higher speeds, up to 50mph. I'll put some posts up as and when i make my mods!

Thanks!! I love the colour too. The hubs are auto, but can be manually locked with a suitable socket or the tool provided. Not tried in anger yet - i hope they work:)

I have recently and very reluctantly sold my Land Rover Defender Camper and bought a Nissan Patrol.. which i have to say i am enjoying immensely! A few mods are planned before we use it for any significant trips. A dual battery system and fridge are #1 priorities, a good set of AT's already...

    I ordered a Defender today!!!!!!!

Before doing ANYTHING, i can highly recommend that you purchase and read the Vehicle Dependant Expedition Guide by Tom Sheppard. Available in latest form direct from his own website here . Depending on your trip, you are very unlikely to need too much in the way of fancy modifications and Tom...

What shocks are you guys running on your Classics?

In my humble opinion, the best spring and damper combination is the one that comes from the factory in the form of Genuine Parts. These offer the best ride/articulation compromise at the best price. Contrary to popular opinion (certainly in the UK) Land Rover's engineers are not a bunch of...

    guys i need your advise

I think that if you can afford to rebuild, and can afford the petrol then i'd stick with a totally original truck. Anything you do to "update" it will be detrimental in the long term. Having said that, if you really, really must then a 300TDI is the only diesel that you should consider. At least...

    To whom it may concern

I think Adam has some valid points (i wouldn't swap my 300TDI for anything) but modern diesels are still king vs petrol, here in the UK, as in the rest of Europe, diesels are by far the most popular engines and i think 70% of all cars sold are diesel, sure petrol engines have caught up somewhat...

    New Defender Concept

That may well be the case in your location, but in the UK (and probably most of western europe) there is still plenty of cash around to those above working class. The new Evoke is selling like the proverbial hotcake with a 6 month waiting list. Land Rover are in record sales territory again, and...

    New Defender Concept

As a dyed-in-the-wool "traditionalist" Land Rover owner, this doesn't float my boat. Its no homage to either the Defender, 90/110, Series trucks or orginal Land Rovers and for me thats where it falls down. Stand the DC100 next to an 80" and there would be zero resemblances. To give it the...

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

The rack is Dormobile rack from Brownchurch. It would fit a 90, no problem. Brownchurch are very happy to make one-offs and custom racks. Their kit is fabulous and they are extremely nice people to deal with. My Ebby has a single silencer, and the noise isn't too bad. Worse for those outside...

110 Dormobile.. further info! Thanks for your interest..! The wheels are indeed Blindo's, outrageously expensive, but i think they do look cool, and wouldn't swap back! We have converted the 110 for family camping and it has.... Dormobile elevating roof with twin bunks at roof level A set...

My 110 Dormobile Hi all, I'm a newcomer to the forum, but a long, long time Land Rover fan, having had almost the full gamut of them in the past! But here is my current and to be longest "serving" wagon. My 110 CSW that has been converted to a 4-berth Dormobile camper. It wasn't quite...
