    Yakima Cam straps are awesome. I never use ratchet straps as I've seen people over tighten them and damage some pricey boats.

    It would be interesting to see if you could find a way for the benches to fold into the trailer while still clearing the tires. I'm kind of digging the built in table/chair concept. One less thing to have to pack for trips

    Two barrels is a good idea, but if your budget is tight, a 26" is still a good compromise between home defense and hunting. All you really need for home defense is what you are comfortable with. This could be a 1911, a 12G, an AR..... Find what works for you.

    My boat trailer axle came off while driving

    Your boat and auto insurance should cover this. Replacements should be easy to come by at a marina or on Craigslist. I wouldnt repair the thing on your own dime, its just not worth it, especially considering how expensive replacement Ranger fenders are. The axle is cheap compared to those.
