    My first Land Rover

I am the other way around, 6 Land Rovers and 1 jeep (which I sold long ago). If you want to know the history of the vehicle and you have the original plate from Spain, you can post in the CLRTTE the club there, to find out if anyone knows it or owned it, it's a long shot bu better than...

    Baja 2017

Funny, we were just in some of those places last week. We did La Mision last year and it is amazing how much greener everything is this year. http://dcprovenlandrover.blogspot.com/2017/04/baja-mexico-2017.html

Hey, 6 Land Rovers since 94, do what you have to do, but so you know, all of them break... eventually :D

    FS: SoCal 235/85R16 offroad tires

I have 4 + 1 tires for sale. 235/85R16 recommended for offroad, since they are noisy on road (reason I took them out) perfect for an extra offroad set. For $400 (O.N.O.) you can have the 4 Irok ND tires (around 5000 miles), 2 like new, 2 worn on the center a bit, and I'll add 1 spare (different...

Range Rover Classic buying advice: combining two worn RRC/disco 1 into usable one?

Well, you are in for a ride, that is for sure! I recommend you to get the best of the lot, the closest as to what you want. Then asses what is going on with it. Transfer case doesn't work, means what? VC seized? repairable.... so start with the truck and start knowing it's virtues and problems...

Soooo....I got stuck! Any recovery advice?

If the LR is spinning all 4s, dig & stuff with rocks/wood/anything may work, but I would attempt a winch rescue if at all possible, find a place to anchor the rescue vehicle and take your time to plan every step, with very careful gas on the LR (try to not spin tires at all).

    Reliability of RR L322 2009 and Defender 110 (or 130 HC) 1985-90

Yeah the 1995 has ABS, Airbags, Air suspension and many more things. Air suspension was disabled when I got it, ABS has not failed much (it had a couple missing sensors and the brake switch was faulty) Airbags don't work anymore, it has the SRS light, as I had in my last 3 or 4 Land Rovers :)...

    Reliability of RR L322 2009 and Defender 110 (or 130 HC) 1985-90

Old Land Rovers are not for everyone, I love them (I work on them, they are my hobby) but they sure have problems and are not easy to live with. If you want a daily-ish driver, go with a newer Land Rover for sure, still will take you to most places you dare to go. Now if you have a soft spot...

TDV6 is much better... almost here...

Ford Super Duty 7.3L Diesel Adventure Mobile / Camp Rig / Flip Pac

Damn, really nice, the only pick up that makes me consider one... bad timing, but otherwise I'd be all over it.

    Preparations, Discovery 2

Well, you may want to get yourself a Nanocom anyway, that can become handy, specially if you want to attempt repairs or want to know what is going on with the Td5. Also, Td5 owners change the front shaft for greasable ones (at least I know a few that do, specially when they start with lift&tire...

    Preparations, Discovery 2

If you make it to Spain, check in the CLRTTE forum, the Spanish LR club will point you to anything you may need while down there. It's only in Spanish but you can figure it out with translate and similar webs. Td5 Disco IIs are a hit or miss kind of experience, I have friends that have been both...

Spotted some testing diesel Rangies stateside

Too little too late, by the time this rigs are affordable enough to offroad, I'll be dead :) They should have brought the real diesels back in the day (300tdi, td5, ...) now, I don't care, I'll drive my VW Tdi to work and my V8 to the desert...

    1986 Defender 110 Diesel

The name Defender was not used until 1990 if I remember well, before it was just ninety and one-ten, then Defender 90 and 110 (and 127) It's been pretty much the same thing since 1948, whatever you call it, anyway :)

    1986 Defender 110 Diesel

There are many things wrong with that description: if it's an 86 it's not a Defender it's a one ten, one ten's had the 2.5 diesel, not the Tdi engines (he claims direct injection), ... but whatever, it's crazy that this thing seems like a good deal here anyway, with all those...

    WTB Lada Niva

Good luck, the few that work well, are still *very* spartan, ... although, I must say that they are the right size for a compact 4x4... back in the day I considered one with a diesel peugeot engine on it... but I went Land Rover and never looked back... do they still have Fiat internals?
