KM2 is a good all-round tire, but it's downright dangerous on snow/ice. Be warned.

Probably a 70 Series or a Hilux with a non-D4D motor. Interesting how many would go to a Defender... having gone from a Defender to Toyotas, I can't imagine going in the opposite direction.

Has anyone thought of grafting the 4Runner tailgate's electrically-lowering window (and likely quite a bit of the tailgate) onto the back of a Tacoma's cab? Could be interesting. Just having more crazy thoughts... as usual...

The RPMs aren't that bad in sixth with 4.88s and the supercharger.

It's a pickup truck. I want it to do its job, get me places, not complain, and not require anything more than preventative maintenance with any frequency. That said, the 4.0 1GR-FE with the supercharger and 4.88 gears gives reasonable performance. If I want to go fast, I've got cars for that...

KM2 is very popular in that size. I ran them for awhile before upgrading to 255/100R16. They're a good tire.

Why not the 255/85R16? Any reason to run 18's?

I think they stopped making the old style when the 4Runner started having slightly different mounts from the Prado (5th generation?).

Not off-topic at all. I'm usually shipping in either a shared 40' standard or a 20' contract. If you have enough notice, it shouldn't be an issue. But, yes, if you want specific dates, it will get very expensive very quickly. Also, some of the routes I've shipped have been in UN containers...

If there isn't a decal package available for the truck that you like, I'd consider masking and painting the stripes. After looking at the vinyl options, we had a guy freehand mask and paint the stripes and they came out great.

'83 style stripes on a 2012... here with wimpy-looking 33" Blizzaks (in Chicago for the winter) rather than the 36" Michelins.
