In my opinion: The simple solution would be to track down some newer halogen fixtures - ebay, junk yard, etc that can accept one of those LED tail light conversion bulbs - either clear or amber. Then put clear lenses on the fixtures.

The only option then will be to charge by temperatures and pressures.

My Medic Master - Freightliner uses standard Group 31 batteries, but it uses 4 of them. I'm thinking that an Emergency Vehicle battery is just a heavy duty battery, maybe with a longer warranty to help with sales. You need to have identical batteries, though.

You might find a Whelen part number on the lens, but there should be a label on the rear of the fixture that will give you the light's model number. Remove the lens screws, remove the fixture screws, and the fixture csn be removed. Be careful installing lenses - some have a small drainage hole...
