Which shocks and coils for my LJ?

My problem was that the bag would lift up along with the coil and pull the line off. I tried playing with the lines a little to give it some slack but then I tore a line on a rock. It depends on where you wheel I guess, the jagged rocks in eastern PA reach up and grab things. Maybe these bags...

Which shocks and coils for my LJ?

I had the Air Lift 1000 bags in my LJ when I had OME springs. I recently put Currie 4" heavy load springs in, which aren't progressive like they used to be. The Currie springs are slightly smaller in diameter so those bags won't fit (not right anyway). Don't think I will need them now anyway...

    Engine/trans skid

:Wow1: Sounds like you can dry that one out and fertilize the lawn. I feel really bad about recommending Rusty's. The hole in mine looks like it's the same size as the one in yours, except the front edge of it is just a little ahead of the plug and it goes back. Perfect spot, just used an...

    Engine/trans skid

I would still try giving Rustys a call and see about returning it, it was obviously made wrong.

    Hi lift jack size question

60" definitely with a fullsize truck. I have a 48" on my Jeep and that is just enough for it. I suggest carrying a fix-it kit (pretty sure that's what they're called).

    Jeep Wrangler Chop-top.

$5000?!?! I thought it was photoshopped at first.

    Engine/trans skid

I would call Rusty's and inquire about the location of the oil drain hole, maybe it was made wrong. Mine was exactly where it needed to be. Changing the filter makes a bit of a mess, but I always just threw some rags or absorbent mats on the skid to keep it to a minimum. Do you have a 4 or 6...

    Just lost my Engine....

More to a 4.0 swap than you think, don't think the 4 cyl auto would hold up and even if you did replace the trans the transfer case is a 21 spline unit, not the 23 spline that comes with 6 cylinder engines, so you are talking the entire drivetrain. So you might as well throw a 5.2 or a 5.9...

    SAR_Squid79's Expedtion Trailer Build

Nice. Next stop should be the tire shop to get some front tires with tread on them. :sombrero:

    SAR_Squid79's Expedtion Trailer Build

Looks great. I plan on building a similar trailer with a tongue box and a rack on top then eventually a RTT when I have the cash. What does it weigh? Does the lid have any weather stripping? How thick is the angle you used?

    Engine/trans skid

Yes the front is raised as well. It's not really as easy as drilling a new hole. I kept the drivers side as is, cut the passengers side off at the bend for the driveshaft, flipped and bent the passengers side piece, then welded it back together. The skid used to be longer too. So depending...

    Engine/trans skid

You should steer clear of the Warn, heard it's only 1/8" thick and won't put up with much abuse. I had the Rusty's and it held up to the beatings I gave it. Having a somewhat low jeep at the time (32's and a budget boost) it got alot of use. I still have my Rusty's on there after my belly...

    Trailers

For now I just go camping while at Rausch Creek off road park in PA, no real expeditions for me, but I throw all my camping junk in the trailer and just pack the LJ for the trail. Picked it up on Craigslist for $180, needed a little work and paint. Just temporary till I get the funds to...

    I love my jeep

I'm on my first and I don't think it's possible to have this much fun in any other vehicle.

I'm new to the site and here's my LJ. More of a crawler/trail truck than an expedition vehicle but I have gotten some great ideas for storage and camping gear from this site. Hope to one day build a trailer with a RTT, but this trailer I got for $180 on craigslist works for now to haul my...
