    1/2 ton 3/4 ton swap

However you could swap in a solid axle and do work :) but it would still just be a 1/2 ton with beefy axles so it depends on your motivation for the swap, if all you need to be 3/4 ton is the axles than your golden, if you really need a 3/4 for towing, hauling, etc than your better just buying a...

Show me your "Adult" rigs and how you keep them running.

I've got a 1994 Chevy K1500 I've replaced the intake silencer with a piece of 4" tubing. Removed the heat riser (stuck closed). Cut the ridges off from around the throttle body bores and smoothed it out. Replaced the PO's god awful E3 spark plugs with some AC Delco stock replacements. Removed...

Pro and con of full size

I grew up hunting in my grandpa's 79 F250, When i was in high school I got a 92 F150 and went adventuring. It's what i was used to, didn't really think I was "offroading". I wanted to get more into offroading and needed more seats so I bought a 00 Grand Cherokee. Hated it. With every fiber of my...

    Who has "cheap fixes"

I am about as cheap as it gets and a redneck to boot. On my Chevy I am using a 2" binder clip and a hair tie as a phone holder, air cleaner modified using a dog food dish and some jb weld, , intake resonator delete using some flex vent and a 4" rubber pvc coupler. On the jeep I had before the...

    spare tire solutions

I dig that swing out! Do you ever have a problem hauling something that you would normally haul with the tailgate down? My wife is really worried about that aspect of the swing out.

    spare tire solutions

I worry that when I need it out in the dirt or snow I won't be able to get to it, it is the lowest bit, and will be more drastically so after a new bumper with a built in receiver up high or put on 285/75's. And I've already dragged/rested on it when I slipped into a wash out. Besides if your...

How much do you really get out

In the two years I've had my jeep I've probably hit the dirt 10 times, and those were tiny, tiny trips. The problem is the jeep itself. It's either broken or I'm too worried it's going to die in the boonies. This year I'm getting a vehicle I can trust and get back at it.

Who's made the change from compact pickup/suv to full size?

I went from from a F150 to a Grand Cherokee, now I'm going to a Tahoe. Definitely staying full size.

    Best 'Aggressive AT' Tires?

Digitaldelay, I had a set in 31x10.5 on my 1992 f150. They were awesome for the year and a half I had them before I sold the truck. Not horribly noisy, great off road and in snow.
