You are probably seeing the DC continuity between the coax connector on the back of the CB and the battery's negative terminal. Do you have continuity from the tailgate to the battery (taking the CB out of the picture)? Like Brian asked, is the antenna adjustable? You might not have an RF...

I asked one of the manufacturers and in the email they stated that their tow bar mounting brackets are "virtually rated" to carry the weight of the vehicle while towing, so I am not sure. To me it sounds like they ran a force analysis on the computer but haven't field tested the numbers...

Scott- I noticed the front tow bar. Would something like that be rated for winching/recovery? I have a 07 Grand Vitara and wondered if a front tow bar would be an option to an ARB bumper since they bolt directly to the sub-frame assembly. Matt
