Just got off ferry in Tasmania and water pump is leaking... Anyone know

I live in Tasmania and travel on the ferry several times a year. You do not need to be registered as a motorhome but you need to make your booking as a motorhome. If you don’t you will be treated as freight, the stevedores will drive your vehicle on and off and you will have to wait in port to...

new recovery tracks for large offroad vehicles

The ability not to turn into a banana that wraps around your wheel in soft going. We're not talking about Landcruiser weight here we're talking about large strong tracks for heavy vehicles. I thought that was the point. If we wanted Maxtrx and they did the job with heavy trucks, then Alan's...

new recovery tracks for large offroad vehicles

Yes fair enough, but the underneath ribbing on Alan's tracks are full depth but on a Maxtrax they are only a few mm. I think that you may need to have your Maxtrax doubled up to get the same strength as Alan's Pete

new recovery tracks for large offroad vehicles

Recover tracks have arrived G'day I've had Alans recovery tracks for a few days now and have finally found time to report back. No road test yet though, just a general description. Tracks are packaged in a cardboard box marked 'Made in Taiwan PRC', it's pleasing to see that not everything is...

    EX ADF canters

A few guys have tried to disconnect the blackout wiring in Perentie Land Rovers. In general they have gotten themselves into a world of pain as they ended up with unpredictable results and unintended consequences e.g. Other non- lighting circuits affected. If you want to disable the blackout...

new recovery tracks for large offroad vehicles

Thanks Alan, I've got set number 2 allocated. To be used on an Oka 4wd which is in dock at the moment while I'm finishing of the motorhome but I've also got a 6x6 Perentie Land Rover so I'll see if I can get that bogged on the beach Pete

Our newest family member - meet BB (big blue)

Alan You will end up very disappointed with these Chinese flexible panels. I have had them for a three years and they deliver nothing like their claimed power, I'd estimate about 80% when the panels are cold and dropping to about 50% in the hot part of the day. And this is in Tassie. Over time...

Unimogadventures - Our build and travel thread

Iain A quick bit of maths. Your meter with the induction cooker set at 1600W shows 185A at 12.1V, this is 2238W, so either a dodgy meter or a lot of losses in the conversion to AC, in the order of an extra 40% power to drive it. Is the cooker rated at the watts used in cooking or the power used...
