R LeF, have you packed it for an overnighter?

I haven't yet, but sort of want to and sort of don't.

Truth be told, I want the Mrs to follow me around with van support so I can sleep in the pop top.:sombrero:

Like yours, my bike is not geared for the highway. And my front knob is way to soft of a compound for asphalt. (Running a Pirelli MT trials tire on the rear).

This is actually me and railbat Brian exploring with the bike on the back of my van. Came to some nasty stuff, so I took the bike off the back to scout out the rest of the road to see if it was worth taking the van thru the nasty stuff and ended up finding the coolest road with great views, including this bridge over a really cool creek. I ended up ridin and he chased in my van.

I guess I'm hesitant to pound my body on the Gas Gas for two days in a row broken up by only a night's sleep in a tent. I'm well into my comfort lovin 40's, man.

I didn't see too many pics of smaller enduros packed for overnighters. Hmm.

No packing for overnight camping. Always return to base. Carrying gear on that bike would start to have the suck pretty quick. I'm getting ready for my second run of Corduroy Enduro next weekend. 170km one day, 15 minutes service and Parc Ferme overnight. Camp out in the trailer, cold engine start in the morning, and another 170km. Yeehaw. :D

Just a quick trip meeting friends in a couple different places in Utah. Five days 1800 miles.

First I had to drone along on the 15 to Washington, UT. I had pre-ordered a new set of tires at Pro Cycle Sports to be waiting for me. I can't say enough about everyone at Pro Cycle Sports, greast prices... nice people and had me ready to go in about an hour (After I pulled my own wheels they offered to mount the tires for free).

Then it was time to head east across UT.

County roads are a bit different in Utah.

The Moab area maybe old news, but it is no less beautiful.

Bought this 505 XC-F and sold my XR650R. Not exactly a self-supporting adventure riding machine, but that's why I have a trailer I suppose. I freak'n love this bike. I've added a heavier flywheel, more powerful stator and I fab'd up a fan kit for it. Can't wait to get back to Moab with this much lighter bike:

One reason was, the 525 has "longer legs" than the XR 400. Wider gearing (6 speeds) makes it more capable for longer, self-supported dirt expeditions. I'll be adding more fuel capacity (has about 140 mile range now) and a Giantloop bag for luggage.

Those Giantloop bags are the shiznitz. Gotta get one for the DR350. Nice setup!

My, then, new XR650L on top of Mosquito Pass in August. After stopping for the photo, it did not want to restart at that altitude. I have since added the 4 gallon gas tank to for additional range.
