Hey,

Ive got an 08 DC LB Tacoma and want to get the rockers and flares sprayed with linex or rockerguard. ive googled it and searched this site and ive seen a few done that look awesome. My question is what brand seems to be best and are the home bedliner kits any good? Ive tried 2 shops here in vancouver and neither will do my flares as they say the material is too thick but they want approx 600 to do my rockers.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Scott

For several years I ran with the Tomkin bumpers on my Jeep RINO LINED and it was one of the best things I did to my Jeep. At the time it only cost $100.00 for both bumpers, but I did take them to him off the truck. I also used the can "spray on liner" for the flares on the Jeep and on the two flares that I prep'd correctly it held up pretty good, but the other two that I got lazy on, the coating flaked off in no time.

A few weeks ago, starting on my new project truck, I used a do it yourself roll on bed liner paint from Rustolim to do the bed of the Tacoma and even after four coats on the floor and two on the walls, It ain't no Rino lining.

In my experience, the "do it yourself" products work ok for bits and pieces, but they are no real replacment for getting a pro job sprayed on.

I used a can of spray on liner from Home Depot as the top coat when I painted my liners. I can't remember the brand name, may have been rustoleum. It didn't spray on easy as the nozzle kept clogging up.

It doesn't have the roughness of Herculiner which is a big plus, but it still gives a good grip to stand on and is pretty tough. And I can touch it up when I grind it off on a rock without having to schedule an appointment with Rhino Liner. I wouldn't use anything very rough to line them with, your leg and pants leg will thank you!
