06' Ford 250 with 6.0 motor reliability?

I was wondering if any one knows how the 6.0 reliability inproved on the 2006 model. I am looking at a used truck with 50K. I have a F450 4x4 2005 model that has been a great truck no problems on the turbo, fuel pump etc. We did have the computer updated runs cleaner now. I love my cummins motor in the 3500 dully I have but prefer the SD for my EX vehicle build. If I could find a 7.3 with low miles that would be best, but most are over 100K and I would like less wear on the trany and other componets to start. Any info on the 2006 SD 6.0 would be helpful.

Before I bought my 05 I did a bit of research on the issue. Basically most of what I read pointed to the initial 6.0 problems being ironed out by 05. Also it seemed like many of the problems were tied to engines that had 'chips' or mods. Mine is stock, has 110k and has had no engine related issues. Actually I just spent the weekend with a friend who owns an auto repair shop in CA and he felt confident enough in the reliability to pick up an 05 6.0 Excursion just 3 weeks ago. For what its worth...

I have an 05 f550 I work out of, its been down 2 times for high pressure oil pump. It runs plastic gears that come apart. It seems to go down every 20k. If that holds true I am on borrowed time. I now have 65k on the truck. I leased the truck for 5 years with a buy out at the end. I will NOT be buying . I dont trust the truck and cant even think how I would feel if I wasnted to travel any distance.

My 06 hasn't had any issues til last week....... a small fuel leak, going to the dealer tomorrow. I have left my motor stock, since I've seen many trucks fail with chips/engine mods.

Thank you for your input. After talking to others I belive good maintance is a must on the new motors of all brands. For now I belive that I will go with a good clean 7.3 SD truck with 100k or less that has not be worked. I have owned 3 of these motors and no the steps to do most major repairs on them as well as the good platform to work with. The search is on.
