07 taco direct fit battery

All, I know there are alot of threads on batteries but I need quick, correct info on a direct fit battery for a 4x regular cab o7 taco. The battery needs to be able to go into the stock spot and secure into place in the oem tray with the oem securing bracket and factory length cables.

I'm in a spot where internet is limited and sporadic. I'm taking what you guys give me to the bank. Cash isn't a concern but avoiding a cluster is and I know most of you on here are dialed in.

platinum, red top, kirkland, whatever. I'll take opinions for sure but can't run the risk of " having it fit" only to get it to the location and "not have it 'really' fit" It's gotta be 100% replacement or nothing. Mod'ing/fumbling even with cables isn't an issue right now.

I understand what "books" say will fit, but I have'ta really know for sure.

Thanks for the Info. This will sorta have to occur by this saturday. Much appreciated.

So all you with 05+ taco's please chime in.

Well, NAPA won't use the stock bracket...hum...cash not a concern...dealership? I guarantee the dealership can 100% fit.

dealership batteries are something I'd like to avoid. Being cash isn't a concern, red top, or sears platinum or something that is considerably better than oem. Avoiding odessey only b/c platinums are the same so in this case i'd go for the less costly one.

I have to schlep this battery with us for another truck that's battery ******** the bed and i need something that fits precisely.

anyone?? Come on guys, help a brother out. I know there are a ton of new tacoma's here that must've had new batteries put in.

I installed a Sears Diehard Marine Platinum PM-1 Group 31 in my 2006 just recently.

I had a new tray made, as the Sears battery is really heavy and it's about an inch longer than the stock, can't remember exactly though. The stock tray is a piece of junk plastic thing. Although, it has two plastic plug like things that go into the fender well. I used the plastic tray with the new one so it would align properly and keep the tray secured. The stock front hold down worked, but I had to drill out the back one and get a longer one.

I had a local sheet metal shop make the tray out of 16ga. sheet metal. Cost about 10 bucks.

thx so far. so dave the sears marine fit sort like 95% of the way with the stock plastic tray...you had to drill to get the othet 5% to correctly fit? I can bring a cordless drill or is there more too it? did the cables reach etc? Will i need a cordless drill?
