08 LR3 fuel/fluid recommendations

got a 08 lr3 hse160k miles coming from auction next week. landrover recommends premium fuel. how necessary is that?

also what diff oil is ok? any gl5 75-90 ok?
also transfer case fluid?

Here is my personal maintenance info:

Oil: Castrol GTX 5w30 (8.6L dry fill, 7.7L refill) Filter: WIX 57302, Drain Plug: M14 x 1.50
Trans: ZF LifeGuard 6, Mercon SP (6L)
Non-locking Diffs: Castrol Syntrax Longlife 75w-90 (LRN7591), Royal Purple Max Gear (01300), (Front: .69L, Rear: 1.16L)
TC: Shell TF 0753 (LRN0753, IYK500010), Royal Purple Synchromax (01512) (1.5L)
Brake Fluid: Pentosin DOT4 LV (1.5L)
Power Steering Fluid: Pentosin CHF-11S (STC50519G, LRN2261) (1L)
Spark Plugs: NGK IFR5N10 (LR005253), 25Nm (18.5ft-lb)
Air Filter: Mann C 31 196
Cabin Filter: Mann CUK 2747
Coolant: Zerex DexCool (15L dry fill, 9.5L refill)

And yes, Premium fuel.

PS: I am at 185,000 miles.

I use Amsoil products everywhere except the t-case and (locking) rear diff. LR seemS to have more particular requirements that Amsoil doesn’t have a product for in those two places. There, I use either genuine LR fluid or Rock Oil purchased from Atlantic British.

For fuel, I typically run 87. Every now and then, I’ll run premium if we’re headed into the woods or up higher elevation. One thing I do that probably makes the most difference is I only use Top Tier certified fuel. Look it up to see which stations around you carry it. It has more detergent added to keep your fuel system and combustion chamber cleaner. Every grade gets the same treatment. I’ve never noticed a difference in performance or economy b/t regular and premium.

I’m sure someone can tell me why that’s a bad idea though.
