08 LR3 vs 10 LR4

So after tons of help from everyone I have one last question as I try to pick out my new land rover. I was wondering what you guys would go with if if you had the choice between these to Lrs same milage lr4 costing a few grand more. Is there any upgraded mods that where done? I'm looking for the vehicle that's going to last me longer. Will this be the lr4 or lr3? Thanks for all your help guys!!

If you are going to wheel it the LR3 will last much longer as there are after market support. The LR4 is too new and if you damage stuff (bumpers, air shocks etc) you might have to replace with OEM.

My response would be the opposite of KyleT's. I have a 2009 LR3. While it is a LUX package interior, it is not as "luxurious" as the LR4. Rather, more utilitarian. I prefer that. It still is a great truck to take the family out to dinner in, but also a fantastic platform to get out and explore remote areas in. It doesn't feel quite as cushy, cushy.
08/09's were dialed in. You can't go wrong!

D4 has the better engine and interior. Plus the more reliable air compressor for the suspension, which can be fitted to LR3 with software update.

Having off roaded both 3 and 4. I would get a 4. The extra power makes it far better on the road and i really like how it drives. It also has the better front lowers and rear upper arms. Both are RRS parts and the lower has a larger ball joint and better bushing. ( it's actually the LR3 armoured and RRS arm and can be fitted to the 3. i've done it with my 3 for front lower AND rear upper arms ) Also has better arb bushes/roll bars so handles better.
It also for some reason is better on tyres.
Friend on his MY12 4 got 30k from the OEM Scorpions fitted to the 20 inch alloys. That tyre on the 3 gets 10-15k max. There must be better mix of alignment and the firmer suspension being better for tyre wear.

There is plenty of supply for both cars and most of what goes on a 3 will fit a 4.

Please remember that ZF, the autobox maker have oil change intervals of 50-75k so a box oil change will be a good idea.
Also, change the air filter at every oil change, LR say 3 years but plenty of us in the UK do it annually.
