09 Defender... what's the word?

The Td5 engine was from 1999-2006 except for ROW markets. the 2007 and forward is the Ford transit engine. The bmw engine was never widely used in the Defender. The South African market did have a 2.8 BMW engine, but it was not sold elsewhere. I am talking model yrs. not calendar yrs.

Confusingly, the TD5 is sometimes referred to as a BMW engine, because it was developed under their ownership, if I am not mistaken.

Where in Vaud are you? My family lives in Cardonne.

Did LR introduce an automatic transmission pairing to the new defender?

Jonathan has spent some time in one at Eastnor. He was impressed.

I expect that the traction control, combined with the legendary Defender articulation would make the newest Defender the most "capable" yet.

Scott, didn't the recent SVX come with factory installed front and/or rear diff locks, at least as an option? That could be very capable.
