Thought I should post up a few "before" photos so that I can post some "after"photos in a year when the rebuild is done...

Could you post more info on the Importation process, fees, how did you go about picking this particular car, do you mind sharing the price??? I'm very interested in doing something similar, I didn't see any info on your blog.

Yes and no. Chasis, Most of the body (except the doors, I wanted to be able to roll the windows down), are original, as are many of the little bits and pieces throughout. Engine was replaced with a fresh unit as the old transmission had died and found a good deal on a lower mile engine/tranny combo.

Original owner 1964 rover, met him in the Florida keys.

Really cool rover and owner. He was 83 and he towed the rover behind his motor home

Honestly the paint, roll cage and fresh tires/rims make it look like a completely different truck. Also all the rubber/wear items have been replaced (bushings, seals etc) and the original factory ac has been replaced with a more modern version. (Yes, it was an 84 with factory air). The other part that made it easier was the the truck started life as a left hand drive export truck that spent most of it's life in southern Spain, so very little rust.

The Range Rover I had. A 1984 3.5 V8 5sp manual

See the range/diff lock lever? To the left is a mount for a mobile phone bracket. When I bought it, this was in place preventing the vehicle from going to locking the CDL... Guess where I found out - Cross axled on a hillside! :D
