My M416 Trailer Build

So after seeing all the awesome trailers on here, I decided I wanted to build an expo trailer myself. I found this awesome condition trailer on here from another member. Here are a few pics of the day I brought it home and washed her.

I was really happy with the shape it was in. The plan is to completely strip it down, sandblast and rebuild it. Going to change out the axle so I can run a set of matching Jeep tires once I can find a set. I also want to build a lid, battery box and want to add a RTT.

Ok so I started stripping it down.

Tub off in the garage. I will work on this once the frame is completely finished.

I am going to POR-15 the entire frame once I get it back. It goes in tomorrow so hoping to have some more updates by weeks end.

Now waiting for my axle to arrive and get it all bolted back together.

I have all new stainless hardware for the frame so we will see how it goes.

Very nice work. Any plans to extend the tongue?

Spring over for a lift?

Hey thanks.

No I think I'm am going to leave the tongue the stock length and get a HF tongue box. As far as a spring over, prolly not. My jeep is stock height on 32 inch tires. If I did a spring over I think the trailer might sit too high. I do want to get a set of matching tires and rims for the trailer though.

I am having a hard time finding replacement U-bolts that attach the tongue to the frame. Anyone have an idea where I might find some?

Thanks.

Got my Axle in woot! Got it mounted up, springs and shocks on. Also mounted up my temp tires and rims.

It almost certainly would. My JK sat almost perfectly level with the stock tires on the trailer and my 33s (stock suspension) on the JK. I think the trailer sat a little higher than stock due to an extra leaf? I think I remember the PO saying something about that. I just went to bigger tires on the trailer (they look purdy), and it's a touch high now.

It'll be a different story once you lift your JK.
