The U.S. Forest Service says closures are needed because of increasing off-road vehicle travel.


I believe that in certain circumstances, there are legitimate reasons to close roads. This is not one of them.

Well honestly enforcement was always lacking due to money/time/logistics...so in reality this will make little difference on the ground.

Emotionally and politically this might mean something, but I doubt it.

As a person who works with this stuff daily, I have to strongly disagree. Almost 40% of OHV Decal revenue is used for OHV law enforcement, in addition to other monies.

I'm not impressed by the political posturing, I am worried about what this will do to access. With no LEO support and declining federal budgets, what do you think the odds are of more areas being closed as a result? This is a pissing contest over "state's rights" and we are the ones who will get soaked with the amber liquid in the long run.
